WRABF…..ERABSF…..USARB 25 meterTarget post 11/30/15

Hahaha! I was on a job site, reading some of this post! Hitting the ole COLDKING hard!😆
Couldnt post a thing though ? Worst rain and lightning! Like hurricane conditions --
was in the middle of a set on a walkin Frezzer ---
stopped off at my local gun shop to check on a can I'd ordered- can't take it until BATF clears it, and from what I'm told could be 6 to 9 months -
and guess how much this bad boy costs? It wil fit a Barrett or Lapua .338

expensive hobbies to be sure!

Yeah, can't help it. Had to rib ya a little on that loss to Ken. Can't believe Paul want's to change Ken's name to The Defroster? LOL
Glad we can all rib each other in good fun. I just plunked down a grand on a darn Colibri? LOL Lord, I swore I wouldn't buy another airgun this year after the Thomas ;-)
I just gotta see what the bullpup love is all about?
Thank gawd I could care less about powder burners!

Yeah Ken, I've wanted one of those Birds since I first saw them a year or two back. Got a deal on it and decided what the heck. Never had a pup before.
I kinda balked at telling Renae I had bought another air rifle after telling her the Thomas was the last airgun I was going to buy this year ;-)
But as soon as she saw the pictures, she said " That's hot looking....that can be my birthday present, and I'll let you shoot it" !!!!LOL I swear I got it made!

Will come with the hard case. Scope not included.

Just finished Day Two at the Nationals -and the only word I can think of is HUMBLING ! For guys that complain about winds-- I can now say - You ain't seen nothing until you've shot at Oxnard! Many a guy looked shell shocked by the end of this day! Me included -in all my years of shooting, I don't believe I've ever shot in such conditions? -Just impossible to read these winds- they would turn in the other direction in a nano second! I have another bite at the apple tomorrow but - it's definitely like nothing I've ever shot in before - not one competitor there thought differently - This is a sample clip of the wind conditions - I'm not sure of the video quality - but you'll get the jist of it!
https://youtu.be/PSqOZw_9ahwThe good part of this adventure was putting faces to so many people that I've typed to-It was a Hoot to meet Allen Surratt! He's a Really nice guy! everybody at the event was incredible! And our host was the Best! My hat goes off to Joe Friedrich! Now if he could just grow some trees to stop them crazy ass Santa Anna winds!
It was great too see Gals like Linda Koch, Vipha Milller - really outshining the guys!
But Allen Surratt does seem to give off his own light?😬
Metting the Arizona team- Mark Bucanun - all super nice people with a devotion to Airguns -
'also James Brinkly -shooting in springer class - so many great people - to numourous to list !

Thanks Jimmy, shooting the LV class we are limited to shooting 12 Ftlbs of energy -so an 8 grain pill traveling out in that range-with them winds -is---- wait for it----
INSANITY ! LOL
'definately a learning experience - but not sure we have anything in Florida that would compare to this?
Youve actually got to experience it to fully realize what a challenge it is to post a good set-
hell I'd need those giant Dayton industrial fans positioned on the firing line to Quazi simulate such conditions?
Peace and Burboun Grease ;-)

Back from the 2016 USARB Benchrest Nationals in Oxnard CA. Easy to say it was the hardest wind condition in the last three years. With that said it was a pleasure meeting all the competitors and one special one (CK, Cold King, Frank Mendola). We meet on the day of practice Thursday, coming back from posting some targets and I said how is it going Mr. Frank and he said not to bad but this wind is interesting. I dont think he had at that time put the face with the name yet but it came to him later and he asked if I was Allen Sssuuurr. I said yes it is Allen Surratt (SRGTO04). That was it the ICE was broken and from that time on it was a pleasure talking with Frank for the rest of the weekend. He got to know me and all the rest of us from the (Phoenix Gang) Mark Buchanan, Linda Koch, Dennis Fekete, Dave Litt, Ray Perron, Scott Seyler, Kevin Hilgers, Garrett Kwakkestein, Michael Schlesinger, and honorary member Jeff Crisler.

On the first two days of compitition we were on the same relay and our benches were next to each other so we could talk and see how each of us was doing. The gloves were off.... I offered to help him with his scope adjustments, a few turns here and a few turn there a firm hit to the side of his scope up front but he turned me down, oh well. LOL By the way Frank you still might want to check your scope mounts, righty tighty lefty loosey, I can never get that right. Again it was a pleasure to meet you and talk with you all weekend and if you dont get that Blonde or Ferrari and still have some money you could always retire out West in Phoenix or Tucson. You are always welcome to shoot with use at Rio anytime.

Meeting you Allen was one of the highlights of my trip- you are nothing like I expected!😬
Thought you'd be some old guy with a crusty attitude ! Maybe it was them Turents ? LOL - I just told Vipha - I need to Pratice for conditions like those on the beach-IN A HURRICANE! 😆
Never seen/or shot in anything like that-probably take me a week to get the dust and silt out of my equipment !
hell -thought I landed in OZ? Got me looking for a Blonde Dorthy !
Cant wait to see you guys, Gal again!
it was a pleasure -
I still haven't hit home, delayed in Charelette NC- might board an 8:30 flight? They keep bumping it -----
'take Care Allen
