WRABF…..ERABSF…..USARB 25 meterTarget post 11/30/15

That's some excellent shooting CK!! Can't wait to see what you do at the nationals in Oxnard. I really want to see you set a record!! All that practice is sure paying off! Don't know how you can shoot so well in that heat. My hat's off to you!!! You have inspired me to practice more, and maybe will be able to post some cards by next week. I doubt they will come close to your shooting excellence, but will post them anyhow.
Peace and Trigger grease

Was a great day yesterday -
I went to the Desoto gun clubs BenchRest match -
But had one really big hiccup --
my fill nipple blew -and caused my regulator to become dislodged- air coming out of the breech and muzzle --a slow hiss 😬
and wouldn't you know it,the only time I didn't bring a spare rifle -a malfunction happens -( waiting on my other Thomas) to dedicate to open class ---
Airgunner Ron ( our host ) was kind enough to allow me to shoot the match tethered to the carbon fiber tank ---
although the event was a fun match -not a sanctioned USARB match -
the malfution did cause point of Impact shifts but I still managed to post a good score -
Paul Stakun was using his RAW with the new polygonal barrel -and it really seemed to make a difference in his score!
But was a really fun event -
just waiting on some Orings for the Thomas to get er back in the game -

Congrats Frank. Glad to hear that Polygonal barrel is doing well on the RAW and Congrats to Paul as well.

Looking at the Desoto web page, it's say's you shot the 13.4 gr in Open class? I thought you shot the 16.1 gr in open and the 13.4 gr in HV?

It's amazing the rifle still functioned with a dislodged regulator? I still want ya to shoot the Steyr at one of these matches ;-)

Peace and ten ring grease

Thanks Jimmy -
'not sure why the listing as Open class? I did shoot the JSB 13.4 grain monsters --
maybe the tether?
you know, in past events I've always brought the Steyr as a backup- don't know why I didn't bring her this time-
really thought I'd run out of air before I could finish my third card! Imagine blowing threw an 88cub tank😬
But was a lot of fun and a good test of stamina and mental fortitude - cause it did rattle me a bit-

Bill L. carefully scrutinized CK's targets and found that HE CAVED!! No 750 today, but he still beat us all despite the mechanical problems with his rifle. Good shooting CK. My RAW performed well, it's just that I didn't. Most of those misses (9s) were strictly my fault, not the gun's, but I'm working on that. Fun shoot in Arcadia at the DeSoto Airgunners. Seems that BR interest is improving there and hopefully, it will be a hotbed of airgun competition. Their facilities are top notch. Following link is the match report. Hope to see some of you there on August 14.

Braved the heat again- actually thank gawd for my two portable fans!
Hot and windy made for good Pratice - winds were gusting to 16mph measured at ground level in front of the target trap.
the Thomas is shooting spot on - repairs did the trick!
scored a 750 with 54 Xs

next up will switch to LV for some serious practice -
need to mix it up
cheers

Dang, I don't know how you stay inside that 9 ring every singe time? Wow

OK, I know you've been dying for me to post a card. I only shot one card!!!
Didn't feel like dragging all the gear out, so I just shot this off the bipod and rear bag off the picnic table.
Shooting my Thomas FT with the 13.4 JSB's right out of the tin. No weighing or sorting. No wind flags, no nothin'

My set up

OK the very first shot I pulled it after sighting in? WTF????...pissed me off so bad I shot number 1 again. Boomyow...10 ring and a X....got my confidence back. We ain't gonna count that crappy 8 ring shot right? LOL Dang it!!!!!!!
Scored it with the .22 cal scoring ring from Champion. Got a 242 with 8 x's for my very first try at the USARB targets. Looked like rain was coming so I quit right there.
Or of course a 240 with 7 x's if you count my crappy misfire ;-)

I know it's not a good card, but it's good for me ;-) Beats the 220's and 230's I was used to shooting ;-)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it ;-)

Paul, you know I don't shoot in this hot weather. It got up to 97 with over 50 % humidity today.
Well for some strange reason I stepped outside and a cloud had come over and it dropped into the 80's just like that? It almost felt cool??? No humidity????? It was thundering like it could poor down any second.
So, I just grabbed the rifle and jumped out there and got her done. Went out just now and the air was back to being so thick I could hardly breathe?
That was my short window of opportunity ;-)
