Worst pellet through your gun.

I have not found a pellet that shoots better than the JSB 18.1 out of my Bobcat some are close but even the bad ones group.ok. I picked up some H&n crow magnums and was amazed that I could watch them pull a big spiral at 50 yds and disappear into oblivion. I would say that at 70 yds I could not hit a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Airgun ballistics are crazy half science half luck.....and the velocity was around 860 so it wasn't like I was trying to shoot them I. The high 900s

.25 Benjamin destroyers were the worst I have ever tried in my .25 marauder. they were the first pellet I bought with the gun and I had 2 tins of them and only 1 small 150 count tin of jsb exact kings. I thought I was getting "average airgun accuracy" as my expectations weren't high, I was getting 3/4"-1" groups at 25 yards with a lot of flyers that I thought were from me pulling the shot. when I finally tried the jsb kings, 1 hole groups all day at 25 yards, 35 yards, and at 50 the groups are still around .5" with very few flyers. I haven't used any other pellets for target but I do have a couple tins of polymags that I want to try out.

Before I obtained my RWS 470TH in .22, I wqas shooting my forty year old RWS Model 35 using the Gamo Raptor alloy pellets. Before extending my backyard range, I was limited to thirty yards from my deck. Using a sandbag rest, I was able to achieve 3/8" groups at will. That is until I began to observe substantiaL over fill in the skirt area. I set these asde and continued to get very good groups. When I fired the over filled pellets, I was lucky to hit the 4' X 4' plywood backstop! When I opened a new tube of these pellets and sorted them by skirt appearence, I found no less than 30% were so aflicted.; Since I was paying premium prices for these pellets, I felt obligated to contact Gamo regarding the issue. The photos that I included served their purpose, hopefully gettig quality control, and Gamo sent me two tubes of their Raptor pellets. Opening the first tube, I found about 10% over filled. Since then, I haven't fired these pellets through the Model 35, but have had pretty good results through the Model 34P Pro Compact, averaging about 1/2" @ 30 yards.

The Crow Magnums were the worst pellet I tried until I tried the Skenco 18gr lead free with the red plastic skirt. At ten yards they couldn't find the mark. When I looked closely at the target I found that they all hit sideways. This is through my .22 synrod. Its worth mentioning that my sons Sumatra 2500 shot both of those fairly well.

"blackdiesel"On a whim I bought some Ruger super point 22 cal 17 gr pellets. I figured my 22 cal Sumatra will shoot any pellet accurately. Well these are horrible. I tried them in my Hatsan AT44 22 cal and they shoot horrible in that gun too.

+1...I bought a tin of these at walmart because it was the only .22 pellet on the shelf and my new Daystate Regal XL was coming the next day. Terrible accuracy and the pointed design/poor casting made them a PITA to load.

Cro-mags are pretty bad in any of my guns. Sadly, RWS Superdomes, which seem to work for most other shooters quite well (and always show pretty well on the Chrony) group poorly out of all of my guns. Oddly enough, I recently did some work to an older Shanghai B-3 underlever, and that guns loves Superdomes. They are the fastest shooting, most consistent pellet I tried out of that gun...weird.

When I first got my condor .177, I tried a whole load of pellets through it before settling on the eunjins and the JSB 10.34 grains. Post that I got a Hatsan and tried another load of pellets through it trying to find the magic pellet. The worst of the lot were the Gamo Hunter and Gamo buffalo pellets. I couldn't hit a 4 ft by 5 ft wooden board at 50 yards. Also tried the crossman pellets on the Hatsan. They were ridiculous but I at least managed to hit the board. Came back to the JSB 10.34 again and the skies were blue. Got a diana in .22 and tried the whole experiment pellets thingy again till I finally went back to the JSB 18 grains which rocked my life. Then I got a bobcat. This time I stuck to the JSB and they worked superbly well. So to sum up.... JSB rocks. Everything else is voodoo.

FearnLoading: agreed! JSB is usually the first pellet manufacturer I try (and often, tho not always the one I stick with). They seem to group well and consistently out of just about everything I shoot. That said, they almost NEVER give the best showing on my Chrony. I find it strange that pellets that typically have lower ES and SD (RWS Superdomes come to mind) usually don't group as well as the JSBs, who's numbers are often less than "ideal." Must be fairy dust in the tins?

"Mentolio"" Must be fairy dust in the tins?
I think it's also got to do with the barrels and the guns themselves. I know for a fact that fx smooth twist and a couple of day state guns were made specifically keeping the JSB pellets in mind. The guns were built pellet up wards which is why the JSB shoots well out of these barrels.

Here is a prime example of different guns preferring certain pellet's...

When I started with air gunning, I had picked up what ever pellets that were available at the big chain store. I had gone through 3 different brands (6 different pellets) until I found one that was respectable in my Beeman Gas Ram Quiet Tek. Daisy, Ruger, and Crosman. The CPHP were the best of the bunch. Grouping at 1/2" at 45 yards. The Ruger Super points were by far the worst. 1.5" groups at 10 yards and 7" at 45. I had vowed to never shoot them again. They were that bad.

Let's skip ahead a year and 3 riffles later. The pellet that I swore to never use again, is now stacking in a single hole at 20 yards in my new QB78. Not to mention, are more consistent than the CPHP and JSBs. At least at the range of less than 30 yards.

Just because one gun hates a certain pellet, do not fear trying them out in other guns. I never would have thought this to be true, until I saw the results with my own eyes.

Yes, I know that these pellets I have used, and continue to use, are what many would call bottom to middle of the road in quality. But they seem to be working very well for me.

I'm having mad probs with my Daystate Pulsar .25 & the Barracuda Hunter Extreme pellets. I don't know if it's the mag, the pellets, or the gun itself. It all started with Barracuda Hunter Extremes falling right through the mag. Then it kept jamming in the gun (even when the mag was completely unloaded).
