I had a order placed this morning that my C.C processor flagged due to the fact the Credit Card was from another country while the package was being shipped to the United States after some investigation I discovered that this is a freight forwarding company that buyers from other countries can use to trick sellers who have refused to sell outside of the United States. The address is valid, What a client does is create an account with this company, The company will issue them a Suite number like the one listed above. The Suite number will be different but the address is the same.
This company sets this up like this for the very purpose of hiding the fact that the buyer is from another country. Once the package arrives to this address they then take over the shipping and per instructions from the buyer ship it out. This is not my assumption It was what I was told by a rep from this company.
Here are the issues that could crop up
1. Credit card fraud, If a chargeback is filed then the seller does not have any other address information other than the freight forwarding company,
2. Illegal items being shipped. According to the U.S Department of Homeland Security, FireArms and or FireArm Accessories I.E Scopes Rails, ETC Cannot be shipped outside the United States without a Fire Arms Export License , A scope can be shipped inside the United States without an issue but being shipped outside the U.S Would be breaking I don't know how many laws. As the seller you would not even know that there was an issue until it was hung up in customs and you would be out the money and your Scope or whatever.
3. Air Rifle Restricted Countries ( This is what the buyer was trying to pull over on me) If the destination country has a restriction on the power or energy of the air rifle then customs could impound the item and it may or may not be returned to the seller. The Client told this company that the package in question was an "AirSoft" Rifle, It was a Hatsan AT44s .25 ( I Dare!!! anyone to play an airsoft game with those)

MOD EDIT: MOVED TO BUYER SELLER FEEDBACK

Willie let me give you the story from someone who uses these forwarding agents.Being in Australia I can tell you we get ripped off with some products.Really ripped off. When I can buy something in the US for less than half with shipping and exchange rates factored in,but the seller will not or doesn't ship to Australia, this is my only option, unless I have someone travelling to the States that is willing to help me out.I've never had an issue using these forwarding agents. Most businesses would be aware of the larger ones.
Your points are valid, but it is not a scam.I do not buy anything gun or airgun related overseas over the net because Australian gun laws prohibit or make it extremely difficult to import firearms or parts.
But I have bought plenty of bike and car parts and the occasional peace offering for for my better half.
Cheers Paul

Hey PaulCat,
I have no problem with freight forwarding, what I have an issue with is the fact that they purposely set up a system to hide the fact that items are being purchased and shipped to a cutout without the sellers knowledge. Understand that I am not saying everyone that uses this service is doing so to commit fraudulent activities. Most are simply like you tired of being told sorry we don't ship outside the country.
The issue is that there are countries that credit card theft and fraud is rampant. As such I refuse to sell and ship to those countries to protect myself from being ripped off.
After this happened I actually started talking to a freight forwarding company to set up a system that will allow me to ship outside the U.S.
