Wind indicators?

I use a large cable zip tie, about a 1/4" wide. I use a sldering iron to make a small hole in the tag end. Thread a piece of yarn thru the hole, leave it about a foot long then add a small wind grabber on the end. The windgrabber can ve anything to catch the wind, feather, small artifical flower, I use a small piece of ribbon, you can experiment to see what wiorks best for you. Slip the cable tie around the end of your barrel and snug it up, leaving the long end with the wind grabber hanging out the right or left side depending on which hand you are. Some experimenting and practice will let you figure how much to allow for windage depending on where your flag is flying.. Quick, simple, cheap, easy to move out of the way to case your rifle. The plastic cablevtie wont damage your blueing. And yes it works!!!

Flu flus , flags, spanish moss, what ever but these flu flus pick up the slightest whisps when nothing else evens moves.

Starting from VHS tape strips to ....Windmeister (I have seen only online pictures of this one)

What you using?

Question: wind indicator at on the gun or between you and the target or at the target?

I'm would do spread out. That way you can catch swirling, cross, gaps, to see any wind conditions along the ranges your shooting..

Like if the wind hits you but it may take a second or so to blow the same down range or hits you on the right but may swirl to the left down range. And so on.

No doubt more is better, just want's sure what is OP looking for. I usually put a strip to the target and I have a spectra fishing line tied to my moderator with a feather, that combo works very well but obviously lacks wind indicator in between but I'm too lazy to carry and setup a bunch of stands with wind indicator. However part of that is trying to use/learn mirage too since in real world that might be the only thing I got and that's if it's sunny.

True . I guess if your traveling to shoot it can be a hassle. I guess somrhing like at the gun can help at the gun and your just at the winds mercy down range from you muzzle..

For me it's .177 the wind plays havoc with. .22 not so much depending on wind speed and direction.

I do like the fishing line use .. that lighter then that string i use . Thanks ill use it next time.

I have no Field course in my close neigbourhood, but I have several powder burner gun clubs. The one I have a membership is one of the largest in NAmerica.

They have many ranges and many disciplines and games, and it is a full house all time. but the best spot I found is a least visited, the 22LR silhouettes range, and the club allowed me to shoot the .25 airgun there, and honestly I like that one the most. I was a Field and FITA competition archery shooter for almost two decades I like the challenging courses ;)

The targets are from 10-20-40-60-80-100 meters. I can comfortably put several wind indicators there in between my bench and the target.

And I am shooting paper = rings, OK sometimes to empty the air tank or the mags I flip the steel plates as well with 37 gr .25 Impact @ 950. I don't hunt (I like to eat pork and ducks/geeze :) ) but I like outdoors very much.
