Will fx swap old gauge to newer one for free/discount?

Fx said they know their old gauges on the impact isn't accurate thats why they upgrading it to the newer one this year. If they are aware it's poopty, do you think they will swap old gauges for new one if we request it? Or at least give a discount if we sent in the old gauge? Both bottle gauge and reg gauge doesn't match when off the reg pressure. One would read higher than the other. Also they don't match what my big CF tank gauge says. I will be upgrading to the newer gauge when they come out. Just asking if I have to pay full price for 2 new gauges or not.

Why should they?

Do you buy a new Ford this year and they come out with improvements in the next model year. Does Ford owe you those improvements?

I don't thing we FX owners are entitled to life long product improvements on our old rifles from FX

I believe the poster is essentially saying that it was a known problem, kinda like a TSB or recall in the auto industry, of which Ford (or other manufacturers) would indeed make it right at little or no cost.

When a manufacturer admits their previous guage did not perform as intended they should be lexchanging them they should also pray that no one kills themself because they unknowingly overfilled their rifle causing the air tank to burst. FX should take care of this before a hungry lawyer does a class action against them.

The FX gauge issue is totally different than the EdGun switching from analog to electronic that was done as an improvement for a guage that was functional by FXs admission the old gauge did not measure air pressure properly just watch the video where their sales man says as much

My 2cents for what it’s worth. If FX is to cheap to put a quality gauge on in the first place I’ll be damned if I’ll buy an up grade from them. Can you say witka.(not sure on the spelling)

If you bought a new Ford and the speedometer was off by 25 mph would you want ford to fix it ?

For the bigger mag and valve upgrade. That's on the customer. I'm talking about the old gauge vs the new one. If you watch fx mk2 video, Joh or what's his name, said the old gauge isn't accurate that's why they will put the new gauge. If Ford make a car and they know it's part is poopty, they have to recall and fix it for free duh.

A smooth talking sales guy tells you his new widget is better than his old one....Hmm. So that ENTILTLES you to free or discounted parts from the new widget to improve your old widget. I'm not seeing any safety problem or defective hardware. I have two rifles with "old" guages. I can tell when they are full, and I can tell when the tank pressure is getting close to the regulator pressure and needs refilled. I do not feel FX owe me anything, but that is just me. Regardless of what the guages read you should still be using data from a chronograph to tune for best performance...IMHO

If you bought a new Ford and the speedometer was off by 25 mph from day one would you want ford to fix it ? We're talking about reasonable expectation of service from a new part. If mine works perfectly that doesn't guarantee others will. Would others be wrong to request a replacement for their defective part simply because mine was not defective?

It's like saying Russian roulette is safe because one guy pulled the trigger and nothing happened. FX says not to exceed 150 bar so how would the customer achieve 150 bar performance with his regulator manometer reading 30 bar low? Is it wrong to expect everything to function correctly on a $2000 airgun? Warranties are a selling point and the Federal Trade Commission regulates them for good reason. I laugh every time I hear " warranty void if " because we have laws to prevent that sort of thing. I encourage everyone to educate themselves on the matter.

I can buy a cheap $3 gauge from China. Sure it works. But is it accurate? No. Many impact owner know fx gauge isn't accurate. That's why most have switch to the wika/huma gauge. We spend $2000 on a gun, should be spend another $30 or so on a gauge just to get better reading? You go buy a car, the speed meter is off by 10mph. Does the car work? Sure it works and runs great but you are guessing your speed. Some don't care about what their reg pressure is at. But those who like to tune their gun, wants to know exactly what pressure they are at. Off by 1-2, that's ok. But off by 10 bar makes a difference. I'm not asking for freebee on their upgrades. But if their gauge is off, they should replace with the better one. But that's just my opinion. I guess some people don't mind their speed meter being off when they drive.

I justed replaced both gauges on my Impact X and my buddies. Waiting for someone to send me a new gauge just hurts my head. The old saying "want it done right, do it yourself" is what I live by when it comes to these situations. It is disappointing that FX charges so much and gives such a poor gauge. My bottle gauge was way off low and reg was slightly high. The digital gauges I installed from Edgun are exact.
