Wildcat MKII Upgrades

I’d love to hear that too. I’m in the market and can’t decide. The 600mm interchangeable barrels is a plus since I own a Crown and have a slug liner on the way.

Chuck, I’ve been trying to message you because you’re “the Wildcat guy” and they keep getting kicked back. Could you e-mail me please? [email protected]

Thanks, Stoti

@ Michael - Thanks for the feedback!

I'm likely not the Edgun fan you're thinking of, I don't know much about them. You might be thinking of Carl (@oregun). As for the Wildcat, when Carl took me out for the first time, he brought a number of airguns with him... one of which was his Wildcat. From the moment I started shooting it, I knew I needed to have one! I also knew I needed to have his bad-ass Condor SS .25 (which I talked him out of a couple of months ago). :)

My next gun is going to be a competition gun. My goal is to come out to EBR this year and compete with you guys (probably more like get schooled by you guys!). I don't want to blow this thread up but I have to ask.... what is your opinion as to the best competition gun right now? I really like the Impact but I see a lot of people shooting the Red Wolf's as well.

Thoughts?

-Dave

@N2AirJun - Re: the mag index mod...

On many Wildcats, you will start to notice grooves on your magazines. This is caused by the cocking level that rides on the mag. In many cases, the cocking lever is sharper on the end than it needs to be, resulting in the grooves. This mod is simple, you simply remove the cocking lever and grind (or file) the end ever so slightly to remove the sharpness. What you end up with is no more grooves and smoother indexing. https://youtu.be/NOxE58IIuCQ to see how it's done. Good luck! -Dave

I got the film from KansasHydro-graphics (click here). I had the dip done by a local company here in Oregon but you can go to any company near you once you get the film. I tried about 6 different color base coats before I ended up using white. It makes the gun look really nice. BTW - The pics don't do it justice... it's much better in person! -Dave

Update... so @oregun and I went shooting today and while the gun was deadly accurate, the FPS was lacking (significantly). It was shooting at 885 FPS. Turns out, I had a blown breach seal or... maybe when I rebuilt it, I simply forgot to put one in :(

Seals replaced but it's too late to put the chrony on it now. To be continued...

Great day of shooting with my buddy, Dave ... his Wildcat is wicked. To see and shoot it was awesome!

Our typical spot in the OR Coast range.

We start at 50 and end at 100 yards. Today was 90yds due to our set-up

Davy and the Killah Cat!

I left my WC at home and took out the Wolf. Like a dope, I only brought 1 tin of pellets with me. DoH!!!!

I gotta say, Dave's Wildcat upgrades are phenomenal! I'd post a target pics, but he took them home to recycle. Dime size at 50 and just under an 1" at 90 is my guess. ~Carl

dwilson050 THANK You for your RAPID response to my query about the source of the dip graphic. I find your sharing of info about your wildcat heartwarming . Will contact the source in Kansas tomorrow. You Wildcat was the first time I was impressed with a pattern that was both intriguing, and also be used as camo and really made the wildcat look great.
