I guess the first question is can I put a slug liner on my FX Wildcat mk2 compact and if so what had been a good slug to use. I know I won't get very many shots but want to be able to take bigger game with it and what should I set my regulator to.
If you have an hour to kill...Matt Dubber has a very in-depth video about FX slug liners. It was my impression that the Wildcat Compact’s barrell (500mm) is too short for slugs to stabilize.
The wildcat compact is too short but if you get the longer wildcat it might be able to shoot slug accurate. I don't think you can push the slugs in the compact to over 900fps. That's how fast you want to push them to get the best accuracy.
I just put the slug liner in mine and have only had time to test it out a little bit with VK 31g. Factory reg and hammer spring they are at just under 800 FPS. Accuracy is just slightly better than with the pellet liner. I should have ordered a Huma reg the same day as the liner but haven’t yet. Maybe get a chance to play with it again tomorrow and will see what I can get out of the hammer spring.
