Wildcat MK2.22 New Huma Reg Shot String

I took the plunge and fitted a Huma reg in my Wildcat. Followed all the advice on the forum and the video on Huma’s website, Thanks by the way, Chuck for all your efforts to make this easier for us to understand.

Only had time to shoot two strings over my chrony before a thunderstorm put an end to it.

I would like to know how long it will take for the reg to settle down and become consistent.

My first shot string had an ES of 22. It went as follows:

850 850 856 872 862 863 862 862

The second shot string had an ES of 32 and went like this:

844 857 865 858 860 873 876 874

I'll will try and get to the range tomorrow and test it some more.

Would appreciate any advice or feedback

Those are the first two shot strings. I’m trying to establish how long it will take for the reg to settle into a consistent shot string with an ES in the single digits

The original reg was fine. If the Huma doesn’t settle then the original will go back in. The rifle is unbelievably accurate. Bought a Crown and it’s the same. So far my experience with FX has been fantastic. They are light and super accurate. I do extensive pest control, often up to 6 hours at a time shooting up to 150 birds. I don’t like heavy air rifles for this type of application. So far they have held up perfectly. And very easy to work on.

I get this type of performance all the time. 50m group Wildcat and Crown. Both 4 shots.

I was interrupted by a thunderstorm. I’m fully aware that it takes longer to settle any reg down. Wanted to find out from the guys who have done the conversion how many shots it took before they started to see consistency.

That's why I said come back after 50 string (400 shots) Mine probably took a 1/2 a tin (250) but I think it could take more or less, so figured 400 and you should be good. It's all in how fast the two surfaces get "set" to each other and seal up tight. Every reg is not the same.
