Wildcat Mk11 .30 or Impact .30

Love both the platforms- Just think Wildcat would be more bang for the buck-(price difference & still STX & adjustable reg) just less bells & whistles- opinions from owners please. Want to have options for shooting slugs(which I believe they both can do with X barrel liners)-(wildcat- less shots per fill, Impact ,more pieces to go south - I'm on the fence here

I m in a similar predicament, but leaning towards the Wildcat .30. Lower Price and the new adjustable regulator. Slugs can wait but definitely give a shot. Not too worried about shot counts. The only thing about the Wildcat MkII 0.30 is the new adjustable regulator. Not sure how reliable it’s gonna be and there isn’t a Huma replacement as far as I know. Not sure if early adopters gonna be beta testers

Impact X is just priced a little high. But highly flexible with multiple cal. Down side O ring hungry.

Sorry, it seems that I may have just "flagged this post" BUT DIDN'T MEAN TOO! Not the first time I've done this. Know that I will never flag another persons post regardless. I think I know what's happening, these old , not so nimble fingers as I move the phones screen along happens to activate the flag button. Again I apologize. And may I apologize in advance for the next time cause I am sure this will happen again!

Cheers

I love the Wildcats. I have both Wildcats and Impacts. The Impact is a great platform, especially for someone wanting to continually tune. It's heavier then the Wildcat and for me less comfortable to shoot. It's big advantage is more shots being a bottle gun. The new 30 Wildcat using the same barrel as the impact is going to be producing approx the same power. Both regs are externally adjustable and hammer spring on both are adjustable. The Wildcat hammer spring adjustment being a little less convenient but not bad. The Wildcat is a lighter gun and for me the most comfortable, natural to shoot gun I own. It's the most rugged gun I own. If I could only have one and had to choose it would be the Wildcat. I believe the Wildcat is a more reliable gun simply because it has less o-rings, but I haven't had a single problem with my 2 Impacts. Good Luck! Sylvan

I'd just like to say to those considering an Impact, don't let a few extra o-rings deter you. I read so many comments about Impacts having a ton of o-rings and they usually imply a high failure rate. I don't see the problem. The gun is extremely easy to work on and if an o-ring were to fail it could be changed by the owner in short order. FX has how to videos on youtube to walk even the most inexperienced person through disassembly and reassembly. Buy the airgun you like best and don't give o-rings a second thought.

How long does the o ring last if the gun sits? Or how often does they need to be replaced? Just worried about not being able to source the oring 5 or 10 years from now

The o-rings are common sizes used in thousands of applications and you can buy 50 of every o-ring in the gun for around $30. Having the gun sit idle makes no difference whatsoever. Silicone grease remains stable and lasts forever. O-rings in your car AC and fuel systems usually last 15 to 20 years or more. You should have no more fear of o-rings than shoe laces.

I am also a left-eyed shooter-but right handed & wondering about cheek weld so close to mag(on both) Have seen one adapter out of UK that covers clip. but out of stock, but my good friend could probably make one with his Lathe & milling machine out of Delrin. Any interest on those once I get gun? Leaning towards Wildcat Mk 11 for costs and simplicity ($600-700) could get me some nice optics & pellets.Love at first sight on Impact, but pricey.

I always liked the wildcat for carrying it , it was a very good gun to carry in woods

as for as .30 caliber if it has enough power it would be a great gun , has anyone shot a string to see FPE or shot count yet ?

I have a MK1 it is a sweet gun now but had alot of bumps along the way to get it where it is .I thought when I used it gee I wished they made other barrels now with MK2 all fit ,prior before with MK! the impact would not fit but the royale was . I used to run my wildcat with a royale barrel on it

I believe it can be a good pellet gun , however no where the power for a .30 caliber slug gun
