Wildcat MK11 .25cal Leading

I have two barrels for this gun. The standard one that came with it and the x-liner. The x liner does shoot better than the standard ST but it leads excessively. Only about 50 shots can be taken before the poi begins to change and continues to change for the next 150 shots before the groups start to open up. The first 50 shots are mostly pellet on pellet then they open up to .25 inch for the next 150 shots before the groups open to 3/8". All this is at 25yds. Basically , the scope is being adjusting every 50 rounds or so. The average velocity is 920fps, es is less than 10 using the JSB Kings. When the gun is cleaned long slivers of lead come out. JB cleaner was put through this liner and it shot very good for over 500 rounds before it had to be cleaned. Several cleanings later the above results are what I'm getting now. After cleaning my RAW in 25cal with the standard Lothar Walter barrel very little lead is removed. Same goes for the poly barrel. This gun is also shooting at 920fps using the same JSB Kings. Also, with this gun about 10 rounds or less need to be shot for the gun to shoot where zeroed and it will hold that zero for a full tin. Not sure what to do at this point. Any help is appreciated. Can't JB it every time the barrel is cleaned. This appears to be almost the last problem with this gun.

If you really have slivers of lead the barrel, I'd bet (but only a dollar) that there is something shaving the pellet. Either in the sleeve, liner fitting or mag to barrel fitting alignment. Could you shoot a pellet into a 5 gal bucket FULL of water and inspect the pellet??? Might not be the whole story but that comment has me curious. Make sure the liner is snug too. If it has any chance to move POI could certainly change.

So I had a similar issue to you when I got my first Crown, the STX barrel started to wander POI and open up groups by about 100 rounds. Two good forward-backward (none of this rotating/drill stuff) lappings with JB Bore Paste followed by several hundred rounds of paying no particular care to accuracy or POI and and now magically the barrel no longer needs to be cleaned AT ALL. (seriously, I've not cleaned it in a couple thousand rounds and it is laser accurate)

Why do I bring this up? Well, for a start, because it MIGHT work for you. Pull the liner and clean all the lead out with Hoppes or some other solvent, clean it thoroughly, and then do a good longitudinal lapping with JB bore paste. Then clean it one final time to get all the JB out and shoot it, put maybe 500 rounds through it without caring about POI or cleaning, and see where you've ended up. I emphasize the longitudinal lapping because, no matter the abrasive, you're leaving scratches in your bore. You want those scratches to line up with the rifling perfectly, you don't want them to swirl or bump over or under the rifling, as that could cause leading/stripping/etc potentially. That is my "I've tried this and it worked once for me" suggestion.

My other suggestion is to scope the bore. They can be had surprisingly inexpensively if you want to buy your own and see what is going on in there. Full disclosure though, getting the software packages to work can be a little hit and miss though, in my case it put up a fight. I happen to have a borescope, and if you wanted to send me your liner, or the whole gun for that matter, I'd happily scope it for you and see if we can see something going wrong. This is what all this looks like BTW:

JCD could also very much be right, which is part of why it occurred to me that scoping the entire gun, not just the liner, might be a good idea. Beyond that, I just hope you find some helpful tidbit in here. :)

After taking out the liner I used the jb paste again. Felt cleaning pellets were used on a special rod end made for the pellets. It was run through 200 times. 100 at a time then cleaned then another 100 and cleaned again. It was then put in the box and the old original liner was put back in the gun after it had the jb paste run through it about 150 times. One time is counted as all the way through then back using the cleaning rod with the felt pellets. Remember, this was already done once with the x barrel getting me over 500 shots with no poi change and extremely good groups, .25" or better at 25 yards. When the groups started to increase in size, bigger than .25" the gun was cleaned. After several cleaning I'm getting the same results. Only about 50 shots before the shots start going low and to the right a little at a time for the next 150 rounds then the groups start to open to .375". When the gun is cleaned again the zero is exactly where it was after the last cleaning telling me that the liner is not moving. Also, when the liner was taken out this last time it was in the exact same position when it was put in because it was marked just to see if it was moving. If the standard barrel doesn't change poi and so far after 220 shots it hasn't, then I know that the x barrel alone is at fault. At this point I'm shooting hundreds of pellets and not really getting too far. This gun has been an ongoing problem since it was purchased new in October 2018. Out of the 6 aftermarket parts that is now in the gun, 4 of the parts I had to make and that doesn't include the stock mods. People in Sweden must be quite small. The x barrel shoots better than the standard one that I have. It's definitely more consistent, tighter groups, but at this point the standard barrel is a better choice overall. If the x barrel is tried again maybe I should jb paste it another 1000 times. If that doesn't clear the leading what will? What do you think?
