WILDCAT FOUND!!!!!!!

We did it! My Wildcat and gear was located. Only thing that isn’t there is the, Nomad II compressor. Thank you everyone for the shares and kind words! The mother of the guy who did it, found the equipment in his room. She recognized the stickers on the case from all the FB postings I had made and people shared.

All of my fellow North Oregon, SW Washington and western Idaho airgunners out there keeping a eye and ear out, Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The mom..I don’t think knows anything besides that the case and pack was in her house. I’m just ecstatic she came forward.

I’ll be honest, I was torn up about my stuff being stolen. But, I was absolutely sick over my uncles brand new Nomad being stolen. He hadn't even used it 5 times. So...I’m trying to find the funds to buy him a new one.

I really feel for the thief's mom, however, I believe law enforcement should be involved in this matter. I.e. press charges for grand theft.

As a dear friend of mine and large YT airgun personality agreed with me on. Based upon the monetary value, he’d get 6-9mo jail time. Ok, that’s all fine and dandy. But what’s the point of sending him to a place where he has 3 square meals a day, a place to sleep, tv and many like minded friends? It’s just going to cost me money to drive the 360mile round trip and the tax payers.

Maybe, just maybe...me have a one on one with him and LEVELING with him...might change the course of his life. I know it worked for me. One can only hope and try. It only takes that “one” time of being treated like a human being. I view it like, you go to a pound..you adopt a dog that has gotten it’s fair share of beat downs. Then you introduce something it’s not accustomed to. Now you’ve turned the dogs view of the world around. And just like humans, the dog may or may not snap out of its previous ways.

Im not a bleeding heart kind of person. But there are times the law needs to be involved and times where you need to square up. By no means am I saying you’re wrong. I just don’t feel him going to jail is worth the extra expenses and tax payers dollars.

you one lucky mofo!! that rarely happens anymore

Amen!!!! My luck is depleted for the rest of the year. I have to walk gingerly now.

Glad you received most of your stuff. Unfortunately in this day and age you got lucky and it was an honest mother, there are parents out there that wouldn’t have done that. Congrats on the good luck and the support of fellow air gunners.

As am I. And I’m very thank for the honesty of the mother.

our community is pretty darn awesome.

It's your decision to make. I'm happy that you were able to recover the bulk of your stolen property. I wish you good luck in finding the compressor.

I am so happy you got most of your stuff back and the mom needs a giant hug at the very least. However you are off base by not filing charges. We know you want to help the kid get straight but that doesn't work with addicts. Best bet is he goes into the system and gets into some kind of court ordered structured treatment. You will get him off the street and save lots of others from the theft or worse. Addicts need trained help. Use your good intentions for his mom and bring a little joy in her life.

Best regards

Damn...now you’re making me rethink my thoughts...

Hate to say it but I'm with socaloldman … addicts steal to supply a habit. If he goes scot free he will still have the habit. In addition, every time he steals something else he will begin to believe that he is smarter than the people he stole from and the police. I know by personal experience in dealing with my relatives that the BEST thing that could happen to him would be for him to get busted hard for what he did and have a judge order him into some rehab facility. What we are talking about did not happen to my relative and he is a career criminal now and the worst part of it is that his mother feels like she has to bail him out of everything that he screws up on … it has made her life miserable. The lady that you write about doesn't deserve that and IMO her life would be greatly enhanced by him getting the book thrown at him.

I'm sorry you had to go through all this, you are a good example of a kind hearted person who looks for the good in others … but sometimes that generosity can be misplaced.

Well, that went well. I talked to his mom and she agreed, some jail might do him some good. He wasn’t home when I showed up. Cops showed up, took down more info and now are waiting/looking for him. Surprisingly, everything was in my pack and case. Even the CAMERAS!!! The mother did allow me to look for the compressor in the shop. Nada. The mom was extremely embarrassed. My heart goes out to her.

Well shoot, I’m already here on the Eastside of Oregon...spend the night and go shoot some ground squirrels in the AM? Truck camp out on some BLM land?
