Wicked air rifle

Thank you to all the those who have turned this thread back around. And thank you to AGN Michael for stepping in and ending the trash talk. No one among us is a perfect human being, we all make mistakes from time to time. I have learned so much from reading posts by the older more experienced airgun members. I'm very new to the hobby/sport/addiction and still have MUCH to learn. I look through here and GTA probably ten times through out the day. And it was great to hear from you too Jim. I had the pleasure of being able to purchase a couple of your cobra valves and a 25 and 22 caliber barrel before you shut your business down. And Knife don't ever refer to yourself as a nobody, underneath that rough exterior you are one of the nicest and most genuine persons I have ever met. Good will to all. And as for WAR making a come back I think that would be awesome.

To the last few posters, Thank you so very much. I set here kinda teary eyed daydreaming of days gone by. Oh Hell do I miss it!

Would you believe i actually had had dealers and collectors try and talk me into leaving my wife as I had become too successful to quit. I completely wrote the slimy bastids off. Nothing, an I mean NOTHING is as important as family. Can you imagine what kind of
Slime would forsake a loved one at the time of their most need. How could anyone stomac, much less suggest such a thing. All they were caring about was the bottom line of what it would cost their profit by not having my work to hawk any longer. GRRRRR!!!!!! Pure Scum!

Even if offered a huge amount of money up front by anyone of them. ( and was) And I mean huge, I would never,
Even take such a sickening offer.
There is not enough money in the world to replace my sweet Wife , and we are dirt poor now.
But oh so worth it.

Some of them cannot understand How I can be happy with my decision. and that is the difference between myself and them. I can sleep at night! My only regret is leaving a few hanging and cannot do a thing about it.

I am so fortunate that AirGunning cam ealong to fill the void, and have a wife that is fully supportive, and loves to see me at the bench shooting. It's a wonderful life!

I have a Flex .30 I bought used (2nd owner) a few years back. I researched it heavily, as I do just about everything I purchase especially hobby/interest related. There was SO much good press about WAR rifles at the time, like 3 years ago, that you'd have been stupid to not get one if that was the category of AG you were looking for: an indestructible, amazingly accurate, hunting beast that was simply made, highly tunable, offered caliber changes, and had excellent shot capacity. Anyone can go and look up those posts.

I didn't know squat about the personalities or the composition of the forums or the makers as much then as now. I actually didn't like the AR/tactical platform and thought the WAR guns ugly and nothing I'd like to own. But compared to the seemingly flimsily made competition, there was nothing that fit what I wanted...a no-worries, highly accurate, throw-a-beatdown hunting rig that I could change calibers. The biggest drawback is undoubtedly the weight. I wish there was no lower handle on the Flex and have come close to machining it off like another owner has done. RAWs are beautiful, precision made weapons. They are also heavy (like the Flex), long, loud, and much more fragile in comparison. As I believe many FX AGs and Daystates are...not really wood-crashing tools. Will they out shoot my Flex, probably. But I've shot pushpins at 100 yrds. consistently with my Flex, and that's good enough for me. Will they do better at killing in the woods...no freaking way.

So somewhere in the last 2 years the tides turned on the general consensus regarding these AGs, for the most part. The market has dropped out on them and the fact that they're not being supported doesn't help. Even though they are a snap to work on for the most part, and there are people like Motorhead that are pros that know them well. I had wished I could get a .22 set up for it, but so much time passed since when I could have to when I wanted/was able to pull the trigger (pun intended), which was at too late a point, that I now have other AGs to take out in .22 that are lighter. But if I was to go on a coyote hunt, which was the only reason I bought the Flex, then there is no other AG I'd be reaching for to take with me. At the same time, if I thought I could get the value I wanted out of it and that it's truly worth, I would sell it as I haven't hunted coyote yet since purchasing it and have done 100% of my AG hunting in .22 as I would need to travel to an area that allows .30 caliber and has 'yotes. My backyard hunting grounds supports neither.

That's my take on my ownership and the mysteries and myths of WAR AGs. Besides wanting to say that all my interactions with Jim were excellent ones. Others miles have varied.

Yes I have. First power graver I ever tried was the GravMaster, what 40 years ago? It was like cutting butter. I told the designer at the Guild show that I Wondered how it would be in steel. He let me know real quick that I was graving 416 ss. It was so easy and smooth I thought it was alu! Shocked!!!

I gave a graving block to a friend of mine two years ago. He doing fantastic work already! Crazy thing is, My Mentors Knives, and mine as well are dog plain and still bring more that fully engraved and gold inlaid knives from other masters Odd. He sent ot a lot of knives for engraving. Lindsay, along with Michael Collins,Laton Mackenzie, several engravers for Holland and Holland. Fantastic work!

Well Travis , Thank you for the God bless.....we here are working on posting the NASTY PMs you sent me....as is 180 from the crap you post out her on open fourm...the people will see your TRUE colors.....I NEVER hid mine!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, I don’t know you, but look around at the hundreds of posts that go thru here each day and see if any of the members here are acting as foolishly as you are. It’s now at, who cares what Travis did, but look at the fool you’re making yourself out to be. A survey was done here awhile back, and average age was in the 50’s, and with that said, I can’t believe if you are that age, you’re carrying on this anger trip like a freaking whiner 3 year old. I think folks have got your point- “you have an issue with GTA1. Everyone here got it, like a week ago. It’s time to pull up your big boy panties and walk away.

I clicked on this tread today to see what ODOYLE had to say, and see that you’re still whining on here. Have you taken five minutes, looked in the mirror, and asked yourself if folks on here even care about your mission to openly “reveal and demolish” a member? You ought to do that, first thing, when you get up today. Do it.

Agreed. I left the GTA cause this was it turned to hostility and childish grown men. I go on forums to learn and share and enjoy this hobby that many others on here do also. The last thing I want to see is a bitch, piss and moan fest going on. Some people's mother's must not have taught them "if you got nothing nice to say don't say anything at all".
