Wicked Air Rifle Warp. 30cal

"YamahaR1"They do have some similarities but many things are improved or totally different. From someone who has had both a marauder and 3 war guns. The war guns are more efficient and accurate. But the platform between the two is alike such as hammer and valve chamber diameter are the same. (I believe) never tried a marauder valve or flex valve in either one. The war guns have a fully tensioned barrel where as the marauder is a floating barrel. But yes there is some things very much alike.

I in no way meant to be knocking the WAR rifles I just noticed that they seemed to have taken the basic design of the Marauder and figured out a better way to build them. I’m curious if Travis will be doing any new rifles now that he is in is own place. 

The internals are based on the Mrods yes. How the valve is secured in the airtube is the same but the valve has a totally different TP and sealing method making it much larger. The hammer is longer and the area where the hammer spring is longer to use a longer spring but has a gap for killing hammer bounce. And the valve has an anti bounce deal in it as well. So I can say it’s based on the Mrod and easy to work on and tear down but totally beefed up and upgraded. Hope that makes sense. Also the hammer spring adjustment has a set screw on the outside so once it’s where you want it you can lock it down. I’m very happy with that feature as after putting a tin of pellets since I first tuned it i threw it over the chrony and it was dead on still same exact fps. The bolts real beefy and is designed to seat the pellet and then come back alittle to be completely out of the way of the TP. And of course the tensioned barrel. Really love that as I moved the LDC back to clean the barrel and cleaned he barrel put the LDC back in place and it was still dead on POI at it's 55yd zero.

As for Travis he has nothing to do with WAR anymore but I've heard he's in a new partnership and they have alot of things in the pipes. It's been a few months since I talked to him so that's all I know.

I was watching Florida Bullfrog on YouTube and in talking about his WAR he mentioned the regulator had 2 gauges one showed the tank pressure and the other what it was set for. He has it set for 2200 psi. In effect wouldn’t that be like keeping a non regulated gun on a 2200 psi tether. Can some explain why that setting is used? On all of my regulated guns they are set from 110 to 150. 

The setting he used is just where he has it for his tune. It's a regulator so it's no different than any other regulator however it's alot more adjustable. From 0-3000psi is it's adjustment range. Just so you know 150bar is 2175psi so I don't understand the confusion? When I have mine set up in .22 I have it set at 1900psi and my .30 I have it jacked up to 2400psi for higher efficiency at my tune.

I currently own only 4 pcp air rifles the regulators in them reduced the pressure in them to 110-150 psi before the reduced pressure Air fires the pellet. In my mind that makes me think by having a regulator send 2200 psi it’s the same as a unregulated rifle that’s connected to a tank through a regulator that tethered to it.
before I installed a regulator in my Gladius I had noticed my best strings were when the pressure was 2300-2500 psi higher than that it would be a bit erratic and lower was not as consistent the reason I put a regulator in the Gladius at 135 psi it gave me 20 very consistent shots in a row without the regulator in that 200 psi drop I was only getting 6 consistent shots. This thinking and maybe there is something that I’m missing is if I could of put an internal regulator in my Gladius set at 2500 psi it would give me 15 good shots as the tank would maintain the 2500 a bit longer than no regulator but then to keep it up I would have to fill the tank more often. I think I understand the reasoning behind having a higher pressure regulator but to my current thinking I would get more good shots out of the rifle with an internal lower pressure regulator.

I have a .25 caliber Cobra. I've replaced the gauges with Class 4 units, so the pressure is somewhat easier to set than with the stock gauges. Mine it set for 1,800 PSI, and just enough hammer preload to assure good valve action. Velocity is ≈880 PFS (25.4 grain AirArms), and very consistent down to 2,000 PSI (as far as I let it go). That yields about 40 shots.

Of all of the airguns I've owned or shot, this is the most accurate of them all. I just wish I could hold better. Maybe I should take lessons from Shooter 1721. 

Well I did it; just put down a deposit for the War Warp Cobra Edition. This is going to be my first American made airgun ever, I'm very excited!

Crossing my fingers that the waiting time is not too long.

I put a deposit on a flex last week in .25 looking forward to that bad boy!!!

Cobra what? Flex or Warp? and which barrel Im assuming a 16 or 17" 

Do you have a Wika Class 4 with +/- %4 ? If so did you order them special because the one floating around that people have been using on the FX Impact have the wrong thread type with BSP and the WAR use NPT unless Jim has changed that recently.

Big congrats guys you'll love them! My WARP is the only one safe from being sold. I'm getting back into springers so all my PCPs are being sold except my WARP. It's that great of a gun for my needs that's the only one I won't get rid of!

hello friend tell me I would like to know if in recent times you have shot heavier slug with your warp .30

Well I'm finally finished with my warp! I have everything I want on it. I have the fab defense stock and foregrip which doubles as a bipod plus the skeleton grip and hawke sidewinder scope with 20x reticle. All of this in a package of .30 cal with a regulated 60fpe gun that is truly a joy to shoot because it is a solid built gun with no cheap frills! It is a real American mad Air rifle with the newest innovations such as the cobra kit! It will get over 40 shots before it drops off reg and has an ES of 8 fps. It is a laser out past 100 yards and shows up some of the best air rifles this world has to offer! This is my 3rd WAR rifle and I enjoy how compact it is, fits in a case that is 32" od and has a great balance point. Going out and shooting off hand is a nice thing and very simple to shooot. Could not be more happy with this pure American made air rifle. Thanks to WAR for giving me my 3rd Air rifle I will never sale!
