Why no taipan veteran reviews

Thread needs another pic! Love my Taipan Vet 22 shorty!

I just bought a .22 Taipan Veteran in Long configuration from Talon Tunes. It's my second PCP airgun, it's sibling is a Bantam Brocock Beech 400 in .25. Man, am I impressed with the Taipan.

The trigger is absolutely amazing - I am a powder burner who recently started into the PCP game so that I can shoot out my backyard, and I put a high value on triggers - this one rocks.

It slings the .22 pellets out there. Right now it's set to shoot the .22 18 grain Diabolo at ~930 for, and it hammers. I got a second and third round hit at my steel target at 200 yards with the little 18 grainers. No issues hitting any of the targets I have set out there (120, 150, 170 & 200 yards). Those little pellets hit the steel with authority, and quite honestly, this little .22 seems to outperform the .25 Brocock at distance.

This thing is quiet! I bought a DonnyFL Sumo for it, but with the shrouded barrel it's not necessary for backyard shooting. The Sumo does take it one notch quieter though - insane how quiet it is. It's just "click" - "PING" (as the pellet slaps the steel target).

It's high quality as well. It's a well built machine. Quite honestly, it does everything better than the Brocock. Trigger is insanely better, it's much more quiet (Brocock has a Ronin), shot count is about 4-5x more, has more power, etc. Besides being cheaper, the Brocock doesn't do anything better than the Taipan.

It makes me want to sell my Brocock now. Wish I bought a Taipan first.

Cause this thread needs a picture :)

Those are awesome!!!

Where do those mag holders come from?

James from Michigan,

Hey James

I made those for my personal Taipans.

If I ever get the time I will do a run of them for other people.

Matt

Hi Matt,

If you ever make some magazine holders, count me in! I would gladly pay you for your time involved .

My Taipan Vets are due on my step Saturday from R&L! .25 Short and a .25 Long. Oh yeh.

That stinks. He made me some plastic ones and they are nice. Maybe someone soon will make them.

I have a 22 Mutant std, 22 veteran compact, 25 Veteran compact, and 25 veteran std. Taipan addiction for sure.

A TalonTunes member wrote an in depth review over there for the Taipan mutants when they first came out. He goes by the name Endothelium. It's several pages back in the Taipan Mutant/ Veteran pages. Extremely informative and pushed me to buy these Taipans.

They are all very accurate and almost go through the same hole at 30 yards. The 22 mutant std is the most quiet at 880 fps for the 18gr JSBs.

The 22 veteran compact is set at 825fps for the 18gr JSBs. The 25 veteran compact is at 880fps for 25.4 JSBs. The 25 veteran std I have am going to slightly enlarge the transfer port to get the 34gr JSBs to atleast 900fps. This is an Ernest mod.

I like them all and rotate them as needed.
