Why are pellets clipping my Huggett???

I just got a new Kral Armour. I got a DonnyFL adapter and installed my .22 hugett. Each shot clips the end of the LDC and my groups are about 1 foot at 20 yards.

why would this happen? Do you think my Donny FL adapter is crooked? ...or the barrel inside the shroud is not lined up? It has to be either the adapter or barrel shroud. It shot perfect without the LDC installed. Any thoughts?

Im pretty mad because I just spent $900 on this and I can’t even shoot it without an LDC.

ANSWER: the Shroud iand the barrwl are not aligned. I was advised to use the next size up LDC from Donny FL. So I will put my 30 caliber LDC on there. He said Hatsan and Kral are notorious for that

Might sound silly but.... find a thin washer that will fit over the male adapter and snug the Huggett up to it and see what happens. This will change the position /'rotation' of the LDC. If the exit hole is off center, this might cure it, or make it worse. Either way its more info before you open the hole... and its usually a really simple test.

I've used thin steel washers all the way up to rubber washer meant for hoses. Some fixed, some got worse....

Had this happen on one of my guns and a couple for friends. In my case I have the ability to pull the barrel and chuck it up in the lathe and check the adapter or end of the barrel/shroud that mates up to the moderator with a dial indicator. In every case it has been the gun and not the moderator that was not true. Only 2 options are to true the mating face on the barrel or as mentioned above drill out or use the next size up in moderator. I always use the next size up. The machine work on DonnyFL moderators is exceptional and would be the last place I would expect a problem. Sorry to hear of your problem, but it's not uncommon. Good luck. sylvan

Hey guys! I called Donny FL.It turns out that Hatsans and Krals are notorious for having crooked barrels inside the shroud. I knew my adapter and Huggett were precision. ..it had to be the Kral...so Donny said he always recommends to use the next size up supressor on any hatsan or kral. He said you will notice on some .22 cal Hatsans the hole in the end of the shround is the size of a .50 cal...that's beacause of thier barrels.

Thanks for all the input. I would never take a drill to my Huggett...but that would have solved the problem. Fortunately I have a .30 cal Huggett here.

Turns out the Kral Armour is super quiet without an LDC. It was 80 decibels with my Huggett and just 90 decibels without it. Cool gun so far. The "ping" and the pellet hitting the plywood down range was louder than the shot. More testing on the way.

Thanks again!! -Nate M

Hey, Despite what my update video says. The barrel on my Kral is actually bored crooked...so even putting an LDC (30 cal) directly onto the end of the barrel did not help. It clipped the $300 Huggette.

DonnyFL said ask the manufacturer for a new barrel...too much work for me. But the gun is super accurate and pretty quiet (91dB) so that's wierd.

Just don't expect to get an LDC on your Armour...may not happen.

I recently had a very slight clipping issue with an LDC. I would recommend everyone get the next size larger. The possibility of it being slightly louder is just not worth the risk. Mine was very slight. Could have even been a bent pellet skirt, but once you have a bit of lead deposited, the problem just gets worse. I would also recommend inspecting pellets carefully for use with the ldc.

BTB: Its not a defect. It gets 1/2 inch groups and there is no moderator required since the gun is 91 decibles. ANY Kral you get will do the same thing...thats why it would be a waste of time to request a new gun...that was my opinion anyway, when Donny suggested that. I was going to throw a Walther barrel on there but decided to move on. ...All my guns get sold. Why would I keep a $500 Kral when I have a stack of $3000 guns sitting here. I haven't even shot my Red Wolf! Shopping for a Crown or Impact now...probably the Crown.

Milacik: I hope my moderator is still OK. It cost $300!!! Its the biggest Huggette you can get. If it's ruined I'll be very mad at Kral Arms...lol!
