Whoa, Daystate! Finally regulating!

I've been out of the loop for a bit and I just for the first time learned of Daystate's new Wolverine R. I watched the video's on YouTube from Giles and Steve at shot show and I have to say that's a pretty awesome looking gun that I would love to try out. Finally Daystate has a gun that includes, together in one package, a mechanical (non electronic) action with a mechanical regulator and trigger and a side lever!

I was a bit put off by the shifting POI in my previous, unregulated .25 Wolverine B and didn't think I'd be considering another Daystate any time soon. I also wasn't a fan of the bolt action. I'm getting ready to trade my Royale for a Crown and I have to say, were it not for the Crown's extra power adjustments and externally adjustable regulator, the Wolverine R would be a serious contender. I'd still like to try one. Maybe I can find some stuff around the house to hock and get both lol.

Anyone else considering picking one up? Anything in particular that makes you choose it over a Crown? Supposedly they're going to be priced about the same.

Daystate is finally giving their customers what they want. Daystate's Harper valve paired with a good HUMA regulator should flatten the power curve like a pancake and increase shot count per fill. All that plus adding a side lever should win back a good portion of the market share that they lost to FX. Can't wait to see a shoot-off between the Crown and the Wolverine R. Should be a nail-biter. Daystate's 3 year transferable warranty is attractive too.

Thanks guys. I was just on AOA web site and I'm marginally confused. They list a Wolverine 2 that seems to be the same thing as a Wolverine R. (side lever, Huma regulated, etc.)

However, there is a guy on YouTube reviewing the Wolverine 2 with the traditional bolt action, no mention of being regulated.

Can anyone in the know clarify for me please?

Also, part of the description of the Wolverine 2 on AOA's website says "When firing the Wolverine Huma the pressure in the plenum chamber is a constant throughout the rifles air supply until the pressure in the rifles is at or below the regulator pressure setting. This setting is adjustable by the shooter to tune the rifle to a desired performance level."

Does this mean the Huma regulator on the Wolverine 2 / R will be externally adjustable?

It's confusing on AoA website; I pre-ordered one and I had to go back and forth with AoA a few times to make sure they get what I want. My version of the Wolverine R includes grey laminate and high power in .22; you won't see it on AoA but you can get all the details from Daystate website. It won't be available until the end of this month, if you want one you probably want to put the order in like now and hopefully you will get it in the first batch. I placed the order way back when it's announced and still waiting. HTH.

"CampFussell"Well my hat's off to Daystate for bringing you back to the forum Cliff. I've missed all your FX 500 sharp shooting brother!
Fuss

Haha, thanks Fuss! I've been away for a bit, tied up with work and some projects but the bug has bitten again. My wallet is cowering in the corner lol. I'm getting ready to trade a gun or two into AOA for a Crown and I'll probably pick up one of the Daystate Wolverine R's when they're available. I'm quite pleasantly surprised to see Daystate finally going mechanical regulator, side lever, etc. It's nice to know they're listening to the people. Maybe they even came across a few of my posts being a cry baby about it lol.

I see the yellow forum has been revamped also. I visited a couple of times but unless I'm missing something there doesn't seem to be much activity there?

Anyway, good to hear from you again and I'm glad to see you're still around and active. Any new additions to the collection you had going? If I recall correctly, you had a nice family of crickets and a Thomas. You been trying anything new since last we talked?

Hope the family is well!
Cliff

All is well Cliff, hope your family is doing great also.

Nothing new here, except an Airmax pistol, only to find out pistols ain't my bag! LOL Done made a carbine out of it! LOL
I'll wait and let all you guys try the new FX and Daystates and see how they measure up. I've gotten the bullpup bug after getting the Colibri and the Cricket pups.
Don't have a .25 cal at the moment and eyeballing Edgun's new Matador R5M with the midlever cocking.

Peace and chicken grease
