Who wants a group buy of great Japanese scopes?

What is the minimum number required?

What is pricing like?

Would these scopes have any guarantee?

We would all have to agree on specs, and that would be the hardest part.

Yeah.
Well, I'm looking for something in the 5-20, 6-24, or Cronus range 4.5-29x56

https://athlonoptics.com/product/cronus-btr-gen2-4-5-29x56-aprs6-ffp-mil/

& they're $1599.00 for their only true UD Japanese glass.

I'm a fan of 2FP. But I don't like the reticle on my 2FP Midas due to it not having a fine enough POA.

I didn't expect to collect money for a group buy. Just checking with them to see what the minimum order is.

Letting you all know. Will touch back once they answer.

Id be interested, any guesses on who they supply parts/scopes for?

They made the upper end Barra scopes before Barra went out of business. They also do the upper end for Riton and the now discontinued Crimson Trace 2-5 series scopes. Crimson Trace switched over to a plant in the Philippines for their upper end scopes recently. I’m sure there are others but that’s the only ones I know about.

I'd be amazed if they would even talk to anyone with an order the size I imagine AGN could come up with, but I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Agreed!

Well we'd need 300 pieces per model order, of the same model.

I don't see that happening but it was worth a try.

IDK. It's not like there's a rush, & there are lots of members here.

Let's just figure a top tier 4-18, 5-20, or 6-24x50/56 30/34mm FFP is probably around $4-500 a piece wholesale. Maybe less, maybe more. Those scopes sell for MSRP $1200-$2200 by the time they're made, shipped to importer, dealers, to buyer.

Now you fellas can consider it lol.
Hey I want a top tier target/BR scope for printing finest groups I can at longer distances. Probably just buy a new Cronus.
Lots of other folks like the 1-4, 1-6, 1-8, as do I, on my .177 springers.

Well, if anyone has a web site & about $50K+ there's definitely a big profit to be made but pleasing everyone on a buy? Not gonna happen.

That G2 Cronus is such a great scope! It tracks perfectly near as I can tell. My friend Randy witnessed me make a cold bore hit on a 19"x22" steel plate at 1990 yards a few days ago, then I hit it again 3 shots later. I only fired 4 shots because that's all I had left in the cartridge bin. This was with a 6.5 RSAUM custom rifle that the G2 was mounted on.

It'd probably take the JOL factory at least a year to make your desired scope. It'd be cool though to have a scope exactly like you want it.
