Who tethers their gun to large air tank?

I only do what I am using my 30 caliber with heavy slugs or even some 25 when testing slugs , However if your question is on a good regulator I cant help you I tether and all guns I tether is 300 bar fills so I do not use a regulator

I teather my 40 Badger just to test different slugs with. Seems the larger tank let’s the rifle shoot faster than what the air tube lets it. It is nice to be able to shoot for a long time with out having to fiddle with filling. 

I tether when I’m bench shooting that way I can just keep shooting, I do this with all my airguns, 25-30-357 and 45, I have a 74cf and a 88cf tank.

I always tether from the bench.

Dirte is that an external regulator sitting on the bench? How does it work and what are its advantages?

Yes it is the Ninja High Pressure Fill Station. You set a the pressure with a allen wrench and the big wheel is the blowdown. Works slick! Easy to use.

Ninja has a new one called HPFSSTICK that is quite tiny compared to the older regulator.

is it safe to use with guns which use fill probes instead of quick coupling plugs.

the foster fittings are kind of locked in whereas the fill probes are just inserted.

asking as i would like to use with my daystate huntsman regal and its super thirsty for air.

I’ve had no problems with my airguns with fill probes, probes fill from side not end.



Added......I’m probably more worried about a coupler popping off a foster fitting then a probe coming out.

Here is my BT65SB Elite QE tetherd directly to my 91ci tank which is already regulated to 2900psi tops and then my .30 Bully tetherd using the RegMan regulator from my 74cf tank, both airguns use the probe fill method.

The small AV 91ci tanks comes regulated/preset at 2900 psi from PA or AD so if you have a airgun that has a max fill of 200 bar your good to go, I mean you could use the small 90ci tank on a 230 bar airgun but you’ll only get 2900 psi tops. I originally bought it to use with my Marauders and Hatsan so I didn’t need to spend the extra money on a separate regulator but the more I started to shoot the bigger tank I wanted then I ended up buying a AV compressor to fill the bigger air tanks then the separate regulator so I could shoot tetherd at the psi I wanted, yep it’s a addiction for sure.

Man those Ninja regulators have come a long way.

Running a probe style rifle tethered do be careful of impact and or ... I had a Korean fill probe break when tethered, must have had a defect but that unsecured air line certainly did beat things about the head & neck & scope & . Everything did look good.

A seemingly needless hole in my bench with a tie down around the hose near the rifle would have been nice that day. And there was no reason I had the tank valve all the way open when half a turn or so would have been fine.

+1 do it all the time, never had something disconnect or any issues.
