who runs March scopes please tell

Except for the highmaster the glass in them falls behind S&B, ATACR is 98% S&B, USO glass - eek, man I've seen the worst glass in these before and not just one!, Kahles has CA but is alright, 95% of S&B. Myself and friends had horrible luck with IOR', never again but glass is okay. Have the FX 5-40, it's nice just not S&B glass. My Athlon Cronus has/had equal glass to it.

The FFP I like most is the ZCO 4.5-27, friend has one, fantastic glass and so is everything else! but I'm not selling my S&B to buy one because I want my 10M close focus and TT is way too expensive so that's out of consideration.

Another good one is the NF 7-35, great mag range and 10Y close focus. But I'm still not getting one because the S&B PM2 5-25/H59 is so nice.

Me - In this order, ZCO 4.5-27 if you don't need 10Y/M focus, S&B 5-25, NF 7-35. That tree reticle in the ZCO is the best tree yet!!!

Although I like March I have no plans to buy another and the 3-24 I had wasn't the best. I hate those huge numbers in the FML moa and mil reticles, huge fail to me.

I have 3 Sightron S111 scopes and compared them with a friend’s March. I really couldn’t tell if the optics on one vs. the other was much different. I didn’t like the March’s reticle. Sightron offers a wide range of useful reticles of proper thickness. I also felt that the eyebox on the March was too limited. For less than half the price, I’ll take the Sightron.

here is sale 30% to 45% off everything , ok so I do own a pm2 so quality is not as good Steve ? I was on the fence I am a sucker for sales , I looked at the 400moa adjustable one for a few yrs but the price buckled me , I so wish it was mil ,

unlike any scopes when u crank turret the entire scope tilts cool huh ?

did anyone ever look threw the 3x24x52 t series reticle or how is the 5x40 mag series

I know you say glass is sub par why is is most BR shooters use them then ?in serious competitions

JW, the March Highmaster glass is as good as it gets. Might there be a reason they adopted the better glass in the HM?? Their normal glass in the FFP models is very good but not great. Overall build quality of March was never in question, very nice. Many consider the Cronus glass very good.

It's not necessary to have the best glass to win BR comps, that's more about load tune, rifle set up, hummer barrels, getting the wind right, etc.

My definition of "sub par" is "poor glass", like what was in the USO I had and some Blurris XTR2 I've looked through and various cheap scopes.

Of course I'm talking generalities, and only my opinion, plus other peoples eyes might disagree. As mentioned in another thread, the particular M 3-24x42 I owned had something wrong with it's glass, it just wasn't as good as my 5-40. That can also be blamed on model to like model variance??

Some of the scopes you mentioned are a step down from S&B for sure.

i had my pm2 5x25 pf4 ffp for 7 yrs i love it

i got a uso b25 with h102 a month ago while glass on low power is better in uso , at high mag I agree it is not as good , also i noticed after 15x it is blurry , It may have a lens not set perfect I am not sure uso told me to send it in i will in a few months , but

i am only looking at march if it is a step up from pm2 and because of massive clearance , i did look at the 3x24x52 34mm ffp , and the 5x40x56 ffp

I wish reticles were a bit more like pm2 but i get it them high power is not designed for shooting various distances but more fixed ranges for br

I also got a burris xtr 34mm in a 1x8 and i like glass , but again it is 1x8 you may be talking about burris hi power , I think the burris xtr is on par with my trigicon 1x8 and as good as my 1x6 swfa ffp hd , I have alot of low power scopes for hunting ,

As for PBR scope review I wish they did a newer one then 2014 I love my SB but they were king for decades but clearly in last 5 years many scopes did evolve but the pm2 5x25 is same scope , say field of view new scopes do crush the pm2 today ,I have a ior 3x18x50 35mm on my win270 , and I love this scope very rugged built like tank , I love the 2nd zero also and low end they are perfect where as the PM2 shines on hi power but , You have to say it is really more of a 7x25 I know yours does tunnel at 5x , they never fixed this in 20 yrs , it is only model which has this flaw , I ignore it as I dont use scope at this power , but I have to say the USO is clear no tunneling and I can read my horus grid @5x plain as day with pm2 Id say as far as a clear grid 7x on mine

I own 2 and do think they really are that good. I haven't compared to many other tier 1 optics, but I haven't found better glass when compared to a Kahles or high end Leupold. It is noticably better than the glass in a Delta. These are my experiences only and you are bound to find others that disagree with me and who have just as valid an opinion as mine.

Short lightweight scopes with a high magnification range and great glass are hard to find. I've not found another that can touch the March.

I buy MOA so can't personally verify the Mil question, but have read many a forum that says March changed to the 6283 years ago, but the rumor is still dogging them.

Both my scopes have a 42mm objective lens. I've never had trouble with the exit pupil size and don't think I'd notice the difference with the 52mm objective other than the higher price tag. I haven't looked through a 52mm and 42mm March side by side to compare, though, so maybe I'm wrong.

Ha, Lou I also have the Burris XTR2 1-8 FFP. SURE wish it had adjustable parallax!! I like the .1 mil center dot for precision. On the AR of course.

My S&B 3-20x50 H59 is what I use when I want lower magnification and wonderful glass, otherwise I use the Talos 4-14's.

Yep S&B 5-25 does tunnel starting at 7x and down, the only time I have them that low is making sure I don't clip the chrono.

Those new USO's probably have better coatings than the old ones. I've recently seen a edit/3.8-22 that had poor glass, my 3.2-17 was very poor, friends ST10 must have been broke, it was almost useless, seriously.

Between myself and one friend, "ALL" our IOR's broke, nope not going IOR ever again. Lot's of stories like this on SH. Yes they have decent glass but, and that's a big BUT....Personally I'd get rid of it, and quickly.

All the newer March have 6283.

really steve u broke a ior ????? wow i thought they were more rugged then my pm2 they sure heavier , I only bought 1 3x18x50 I dont use it on pcp so it gets little use , ok thanks for tip on ior i will take advice I hate when things break during hunting

steve I never used a ballistic reticle till 2019 I always wanted a uncluttered reticle but , I am now hooked on horus I only got the h102 , but i will get a h59 next , I thought my eyes would be fixed on grid to me they are not it is like transparent but i can recall corrections in a millisecond with ,I am a believer and the wind holds with the line accually work , I tested it in severe wind ,

Prior from my training and 100s of thousands of firing solutions , I used to and still look at the plain mil or mOa nd my brain draws grids like the horus but , the horus is much quicker for me ,LOU
