Who is AEAC, An Q and A with Steve and other AEAC Staff

"AEAC"Yeah, I feel ya Smaug. I just struggle to see that value in spending time on a gun that's not ready yet. I don't pass any permanent judgement but I'm not going to commit precious hours to reviewing something that hasn't been properly developed yet. Once it has, I'm all about it. Until then, there's WAY to much other product to spend my time on. Remember, there's only so many months in a year buddy and already, I've more great things to cover for you guys than there is available time.

Lastly, I've made piece with the fact that I'll never be everything to everyone. AEAC is a volunteer army and if it's not a good fit, there's lots of other great choices out there.
Trying not to kiss your A**........I agree with what you are doing Steve. I think that what you are doing is walking a fine line. We know that some gun companies (generally lower priced guns) will never compete with $1000+ guns. If you went out there and trashed those, you would be labeled a "pompous airgun snob". The review you just did on the Kral was done in a way that you are getting better than expected performance for the price. You will never get another airgun to review, if you go on and on calling it a pile of crap. You and Matt have been forward about not taking in crap and reviewing it. That is perfectly alright with me. Car magazines have to walk the line also. They would not survive without paid advertising. Matt and you are probably more forward about it than them. The only unbiased magazine is Consumer Reports. They only survive on hounding me for money every week in an email.

When certain airguns have continuing issues we hash that out in the forums. Nice how we are debating the gun now after your video is released. Air-gunning is a relatively small community. Every gun I buy is the first time I have ever seen it in person.

A few of you guys doing YouTube videos are what peaked my interest in airguns. That's a good thing! I'm smart enough to get what is "good" and "bad". I'm using you as a guide and entertainment. Always looking forward to the next review.
Just my .02 cents.

BTW What got you into airguns?

Steve, I feel like your videos appear to be pretty straight forward, which I appreciate. I quit watching some other YouTube channels because they feel too much like an informercial.

Okay, tease us a little bit: What would you like to do on your AEAC channel that you just can't do "right now?"....what's the vision, man? :)

And thanks for letting us interrupt your 15-hour workday to ask all of our fanboy questions! :) :) :)

AEAC
"Willie14228"X27 beat me to it LOL
How about Steve (to steal a phrase) "what's in your wallet" or Airgun Safe
ooo i like that... "what's in your closet?"

Oh yeah I actually forgot that was a tie breaker question, ..... i promise ..... its my story and i'm sticking to it.
Okay tell you what I will rephrase the question what is your top 5 favorite airguns guns you have ever owned? And what air gun is your go-to for small bore hunting.

Dirte,

Exactly... it is what it is and it does what it does, so reviewing these guns positively once you've invested the proper time to learn them isn't difficult. For me, price these days seems more a function of refinement than accuracy... I also wrote about this once in my blog at AOA. You should check it out, it's a cool read.

I love Consumer Reports. I'm still an active subscriber and God for bid I take a break.. they're up my ass with reminders to come back. I like C&D and MT too.. R&T, not so much.

Steve

Mobilemail,

OMG, thought I was never gunna get that Bushbuck45 vid done yesterday, lol :)

I'm generally pleased with AEAC's trajectory. I recall last Easter when we were at 3,000 subscribed & 500,000 views. We've been able to add 10,000 subs and over a 1,120,000 views since then, and it's been this skyward path that's gotten all the right people behind us in such short order. Currently we're adding followers at a rate of 1,000 a month and are seeing 175,000 views each 30 day window. It's a healthy curve I'm grateful for.

Moving forward, I wanted to incorporate more travel & hunting... sort of like a Review Channel, Travel Channel, and Hunting Channel all put together. Thankfully two groups recently got behind the idea in a BIG way (came together at SHOT Show), and Michael & I will be sharing more details with you all very soon. AGN members exclusively will be involved in the series process as they are RDW ;-)

Steve

Steve - thanks for your contribution to the AG community and appreciate your transparency. I'm subscribed to your YouTube channel and look forward to your reviews, and understand there's a lot of hard work going on "behind the scenes" (maybe the title for a future video :)) for each review that doesn't make it into each video.

I also understand it's a balancing act and compromises need to be made, and I can't disagree with the ones you've described already, especially not expending the time and resources to review certain guns. Along those lines, have you considered doing an occasional review based on a poll in the forums and Social Media? I understand how you'd want to review what you find interesting and worthy, and your channel isn't a democracy...

Keep up the great work!
