Ernest and Brian are top of the food chain . Dealt with both , both are INCREDIBLE and as cool as a breeze . I've never dealt with Alan Z so can't speak to first hand experience. Only thing I've heard is he is great but it's pricey

It is very much skill based. If you over polish a sear you will remove the hardened surface and destroy it. That takes Skill. If you force parts with orings in out or around the oring will get chewed up. It takes Skill to know when that's about to happen. Polishing a barrel enough but not so much it changes the dimensions too much. That takes Skill."kmd1984"EDIT: Don't get me wrong. I get it. It is never as simple as saying, "Just polish this, and smooth out that." Some people look at a barrel and say, "It looks great to me!", whereas others might have a better eye for it and say, "This barrel looks like sh*t!"... At the end of the day that will be the difference between a good and a not so good tuner.

Thanks for the input. I am getting to understand more and more what a Tuner does."John_in_Ma"

Are you good at your job, or do you have it because other people don't want to /can't do it?
