Which Slugs Will Work in an FX Streamline?

by far in a way the fx hybrid slugs just designed by fx there is video on airgun 101

The new Hybrid Slugs from FX. They are meant for the STX barrel. No slug barrel needed.

Thank you for your prompt responses. I was under the impression that the FX Hybrid slugs are only meant for later models with the Smooth Twist X barrels and not the original FX Streamline with the simple Smooth Twist barrel.

The old smooth twist was never designed for slug. It only have 3 to 4 inch of rifling. Might want to get a slug liner if you want to shoot slug. It's only $109. If you can afford a $2000 gun I'm sure you can afford a $109 liner. Or at least get the newer smooth twist x that has 100% rifling. The new fx slugs are meant for the smooth twist x. Not the old 3 to 4 inch rifling smooth twist.

the probable issue will be speed. i have a SL in 22. huma reg set at 135, spring at max. i get 31 ft/lbs. with the 18's. i've read the hybrids like 920+. no way the stock SL will do that without some serious mods. i'd bet the hybrids would would shoot them fine if you got them up to that speed.

18.13 says he is happy at 770. just under 32 ft/lbs. so depends on what you want to do. paper punching it wont matter. imo though, the trajectory at 770 would'nt be flat enough for hunting or plinking.

I’m not sure they would work accurately at the speeds necessary for the same reason when you push pellets too hard from the ST barrel they lose accuracy. The last two inches that are rifled aren’t enough to impart sufficient spin when much in excess of 900 FPS. Plus the SL is a 32 fpe gun at the most and without modification not capable of pushing the slugs fast enough even if they would be accurate. Two strikes against the SL with ST barrel. Great gun with 18.1 JSB pellets though. Like 18.13 says if you’re ok with under 800 FPS then give them a try... but you’d be trying then to shoot longer distances I would imagine?

dude , this is the second thread you are coming off as less than helpful. first off , i owned a streamline. it's a $1000 gun , not $2000 and the smooth twist barrels they came with were not as far as i know able to be switched over. many people asked about it and i never heard of success doing so. but most importantly , please refrain from telling folks WHAT they can afford.

These are the photos when I tried the samples on. The second photo is the grouping at 100m.
