Which scope would you choose?

I have a Midas TAC 6-24x50. It’s become my favorite scope. The clarity is fantastic at this price point. I also really like the following:

Center dot reticle

Zero stop. I do a lot of pest control and this feature is great to have. After each shot, I turn the elevation turret back to zero without having to look at the scope. No more getting the elevation wrong by a complete turn.

Windage turret is also a nice tactical unit but has a cover.

Concise and clear clicks. The turrets are not mushy

Returns to zero without fail. I shoot anywhere between 150 to 250 shots per outing and dial for each shot.

Beautifully finished scope

Yes I mostly have my mind made up, but for the sake of a good discussion......

athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50

vortex diamondback tactical 6-24x50

Discovery optics hd 4-24.

Looking for opinions or reviews. Probably going midas on my streamline 22

might go 4-16 instead but I usually use 6-12 on my 4-16 talos

Hello-

I have the Midas Tac 4-16 x44, which I like a great deal. The best reference for the Midas Tac scope I can give you, though, is what my friends and family say when they look through it- "Whoa! That is an awesome scope! It is so clear! That had to cost a lot!"

I plan on buying a 6-24 x 50 version for my Red Wolf and moving the 4-16 x 44 to a Bantam Sniper HR, when I get it.

Kind regards,

Aztec Emerald 5.5-25x50 would be another to have a good look at. I'm enjoying one on my Red Wolf.

I’d have to agree here, I have the Aztec Emerald 5.5 on both my HMx 30 and 357 and couldn’t be happier, I also had one on my Wildcat Patriot .25, but moved it to my .30 and put a Tac on the wildcat but that can change when I find something nicer.

Ok a FFP scope then I’d step out and try the VT-T 6-24x50 ffp Discovery or even the VT-T 4.5-18x44 ffp all depending on what your really going to be using it for plus I have yet to hear anything bad about them so I just ordered a cheaper sfp Discovery just to see what they are like so if it’s ok and I start hearing good reviews on their FFP scopes I might add one like the 4.5-18 to my collection.

Have no experience with Discovery. I have a number of Athlon and Vortex scopes. Both have been great. Glass and clarity is equal in my opinion. The one thing I have noticed, the Vortex turrets seem to be of a higher quality. The clicks are crisper compared to the Athlon being slightly mushy and the marking on the Vortex line up. On the Athlon the marking are slightly off and one ends up exactly in the middle of the marks. I like the Athlon scopes and this is just a noticeable difference between the two brands that I own. sylvan
