Accurate ranging is foremost followed by a reticle that you can easily determine holdover.  I’ve been using a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24X for years with good results.  Why 6-24 when you can’t use it over 16X?  The reticle is 20x instead of 10X.

My wife loves her Hawke Airmax, but I think the Vortex Diamondback 6-24 is a little better.

I really like the Hawke ED 10-50×60.  Mine ranges exceptionally well when set at 16X.

    In that case –

long/narrow depth of field, so a small objectve is best.

fixed 10x or variable up to 12x.

    mil-dot reticle.

Something like these are popular among some of the top HFT PCP shooters:

In general, if the scope is a good choice for AAFTA Hunter Division, it's a poor choice for HFT, and vise-versa.

thank you, make sense, if during the shoot it is not allowed to touch the scope, heaving a good depth of field helps

I think the  FIXED power SWFA 10X or 16X scope would do well for that game.  Reticle is ok and focal distance is forgiving.  Very solid scopes.

Thank you, any tips on ranging please? I red some prefer to use “faster” scopes and use the degree how much the target is blurred to judge the distance, and some prefer smaller objectives to have sharp targets through the range.
