Which pcp moderator should you buy and why! Here's my experience with Hugget

I often read people ask "Which moderator should I buy for my PCP". I'm here to tell you about my experience with a Hugget modurator I have on my Fx .30 Impact. A month ago I was shooting my gun after installing the Power plenum. When I installed the larger plenum. I had the shroud and modurator off the gun. So I could get access to the valve stop/valve spring adjustment knob. Some where in the middle of my outing the next day, one of the pellets ripped of course and spraying all over the target.

After careful inspection I found that the modurator and shroud had worked loose. I guess ,I hadn't tightened the modurator and shroud tight enough to keep it in place. Need less to say, the spray was a pellet gutting my Hugget modurator. Leaving the modurator useless.

I tried to repair and straighten out the damaged parts, with little or no luck. After spending good money on this modurator I figured it was worth the cost to repair it. I reached out to Hugget through there web site. I took responsibility for the damage explaining how the modurator had worked loose and I shot it. I was Requesting to get a cost for the replacement parts. A double days later I got a email from Andrew Hugget, requesting my address. With a very nice note "Sorry for your troubles, I like to send you a replacement part free of charge". WOW, I about fell out of my chair. Id expect at the very least they would want shipping fees. Nope just my shipping address. Three weeks later I got a padded envelope with all the replacement parts to repair my Hugget.

I'm here to tell you, I'm very proud of my Hugget today. After my experience I would recommend Hugget moderators

Thank you Hugget, Mont.

That’s all I buy anymore. I tried the hugget snipe on my wildcat because of the way the 600 mm barrel shroud ended, a standard can would be run into the air tube. Sure, I could’ve put an extension on it to push the barrel out forward, but now I’m losing the whole reason I went with a 600mm platform. As it turned out, the hugget worked out awesome. It kept a sleek look on the gun, and took the bark out.

I recently bought the same snipe version as mine, but with the silver swirl, and man oh man that is just one good looking moderator. I got it for a friends Wildcat I put together for him, and told myself one day I’ll get the silver swirl. When my friend came over to pick up his Cat, I had his son fire it w/o the hugget, and again with the hugget. The difference itself is amazing, so much so we all laughed at the sound reduction.

well, I recently picked up a barely used Impact MK2 in silver and black, and that was reason enough to pick up the silver swirl snipe, to match up to the impact. Again, such a difference in sound reduction. Not mousefart quiet, but a very noticeable difference. Sounds as if you’ve only got 50 BAR in the gun.

Revoman- Utah Airguns has it in stock!

on the wildcat I set up for my friend he bought a near new 25 cal standard barrel with the laminate stock, and I chose he silver swirl for it. It looks really sharp with the laminate stock. Here’s his son on the day they picked it up. I dared him to tear a card set up sideways in half at 55 yards. He did it easily. The teeth in his smile match the glitter on that silver swirl Hugget!

HUGGETTS and HW brands dont adversely affect accuracy based on all of my extensive testing shooting at 100 yards and farther using a ridiculous amount of different guns as test subjects. If you're not into 1/4-1/2" inch 100 yard accuracy shooting home made match grade swaged pellets and slugs then ANY LDC is OK for most are TOTALLY OK with probably under one inch at 50 yards and 1-1.5" at 100 is fine for MOST AIRGUNNERS. Just the accuracy nut jobs need worry about buying (NOT!!!) a (plus one) size brand of LDC!!!

NICE set up! And shoots lights out to boot! Well done.

I was incorrect on the 'orange' color, and it's NOT just the swirls that are colored, it's the entire can.

Thanks a bunch for the info!

Ok, good to know, Revo! I didn’t know Hugget made them in all these colors.

looking at the all black version Snipe model I bought for my 25 wildcat, i was thinking after I bought the silver swirl for my buddy and was envious of his, ha ha, I was thinking of painting the swirls on mine a flaming red, cause red means heat, and that 25 cal shoots oh so very hot at near 1000 FPS!

That or even in flat dark earth, as I’m getting the itch on painting the stock on this wildcat a FDE tone like I did my hatsan hercules Bully. I think just doing the swirl part and the stock it’ll come out sweet.
