which one is best air rifle

I just start air airgunning last year and now I'm making 118 yard shots not hunting just plinking

But hunting out to 60 yards is no problem I paid top dollar and got the fx impact mk2 700mm barrel and I love it I buy cheap pellets and they shoot good dial them in and they shoot real good buy recommended pellets and they shoot extremely good I feel like a sniper when I get a pellet dialed in so good I'm sub moa @ 60 yards but when I first got it I put a vortex HU1 on it and slayed raccoons squirrels groundhog and rabbits since then I've brought a 3000.00 IOR Recon scope and am quickly becoming a sniper to think I used to watch guys on youtube and think, "who the hell spends that kinda money on an airgun" lmao

A Taipan Veteran with a CZ barrel is the best I've owned so far. It is reliable. It never has any POI shifts. It is easy to tune. Quiet out of the box. It is powerful enough to shoot slugs if you decide to go that route. It is short and maneuverable. Has a 20 MOA rail which comes in handy for zeroing a scope at long ranges. The anti double feed mechanism is magic. Most importantly, the gun is the most ACCURATE gun I've shot to date.

Love my FX Impact for its ability to shoot to over 200 yards, change calibers and the myriad of tuning choices it has. Love my Benjamin Discovery guns for their price point, simple light construction and aftermarket parts availability. Lets not forget a couple of the springers I have that are capable of more than 50+ yard hunting shots like the hefty Diana 52 and 54. There is so much out there you need to be a little more specific as to the type of gun you are after. Narrow it down a bit for us to get a bit more concise information. Price point, PCP, springer, weight ect.

Wow.... what is your definition of "best"? Even just asking which one is most accurate is open to debate and that's only one parameter.

If I were to try to trim down to ONE 22 cal rifle, it would be real tough but my Career 707 would have to be in the running. What makes it the "best" in this scenario is that it's quite accurate, powerful, easy to adjust power, slick, and sturdy. But it's heavy. Unfortunately , I don't yet own a Veteran, but have shot one, as well as a Uragan, and both would likely be as good or better. I DO have a Red Wolf HP and Safari HP which I really love and are marginally more accurate but wouldn't choose them because of the electronics. I'm not saying they're going to fail... just that it's more to WORRY about failing if you're depending on 1 rifle. There are also several Edguns that likely would be in the running but I've not shot one. AND Wolverine, Regal, Royale, RAW...........

Anyway .... a better definition of YOUR best might be helpful. Is price a consideration? Weight? Sturdiness? Appearance? Ergonomics? Ease of repair ? Accuracy? Any one of these could generate a discussion of what is "best".

Good discussion above. My BEST .22 caliber rifle is my Cricket mini Carbine. Small, lightweight, very accurate out to 100+ yards, shoots 18.1 at 880 FPS, great trigger, dependable but also super easy to work on, easy to shoot off hand, good magazine system hold 14 pellets each... Its my "go to" gun when I want to pull something out of the safe and not worry if its going to be zero'd, or if POI has shifted, or if everything will work properly. Its always good to go...

And it’s won me some $$$, so there’s that too! ;)

To the OP, this is going to turn into a pissing contest between personal preferences, none of which may be suitable for you. If you offer a few parameters that you desire, you will get more meaningful information.

So far there’s been none of that... personal opinions on PCPs we have experience with is not a “pissing” contest. Many, many .22 PCPs fit his initial criteria... The OP still has to do his own due diligence and pin down other factors not apparent at first... none of the posters above said... “you have to buy the one I use... it’s the best!” They only posted their experiences with their PCPs.

I see you asked this question in the General Airguning section. What platform are you looking for? CO2, Springers, or PCPs? Most folk hunting beyond 50 yards will gravitate towards a PCP for it’s inherent power level potential. Just asking because you didn’t specify.

As others have asked: do you have a budget in mind? Daystate will probably argue that their new Delta Wolf is the best, maybe they are right, but even so, I believe it costs starting at over $3K and that doesn’t include air supply.

My go to PCP is also the Kalibrgun Cricket Carbine Mini. It’s my Goldilocks, not too long, not too short, fits just right. Very accurate, with excellent power for your purposes. Holds 14 shots per magazine. Can shoot a good variety of ammo with great results. I don’t compete or shoot much beyond 30 yards. But have hit one inch targets at 100 yards.

I love this "what's the best" question..! There is no single "best"..!

Mr. sharklb is no better off than he was before he/you posted the question.

Ask 50 people what the "best" of anything is, you'll get 48 different answers..!

Mike

Mike - I agree with you. But is that a bad thing? I mean, yes you'll get random answers, but it could also open your eyes to products you wouldn't know about otherwise. It would help if the OP gave a few specifics to help the process.

When I was new to the PCP world 3 years ago I bought a Prod and thought it was pretty okayish but it opened up a world I didn't know about outside of Walmart airguns. I knew I wanted more and asked a similar question. I was recommended a bunch of different guns, but researching them there was an issue with each one. Then I was recommended a Veteran by a few seniors on the forum - you gotta respect the guys who have been doing this a while. I had never heard of them, only one website sold them and research turned up very little info on the Veteran's, but the one thing I noticed was that I never found a bad word said - so I bought and was very happy.
