Which is Quieter, a Stock Marauder or a Maximus with 6" TKO?

Not sure but a marauder 22 is basically the benchmark of quiet....I thought the gun wasnt even working right when I had one if that helps.

I used a decibel meter on my Marauder some time ago. Around 85 db. I think the problem you'll find with the comparison, is that anyone buying a Maximus isn't going to put a TKO moderator on the end. The gun can be had on the Crosman site for $165, so to put another $100 plus into a moderator doesn't make any sense.
Plus, the US version of the Maximus doesn't have threads for a moderator, so you have to find another way to attach. The Euro version limited to 12 foot pounds is already incredibly quiet, and has threads for a moderator. In that case, the Euro with a TKO would probably be much quieter.
Also, what caliber are you talking about? different calibers, different sound.

Please check out DonnyFL.com if you want to make your Maximus quiet. He sells an adapter that fits perfectly and allows use of any of his suppressors.
The Maximus is a loud gun, even with the TKO muzzle device that I tried. If you want quiet, you need DonnyFL.

The Tanto would be a good choice for lowest cost, smallest diameter and shortest length but still takes out all the bark.

Thanks everyone. I should have been more clear in my original post. I already own a Maximus with a 6" TKO ($65) and was wondering if the stock Marauder was quieter. I was hoping to find someone who owns (or has access to) both for a side-by-side comparo. No problem. Thanks.

I've used the 6.5" TKO ( never heard of a 6" by Mike but could well be ) on a stock maximus hunter and I've used marauders.
Really comes down to the tune. IF both are on exactly the same power level Really hard to call, maybe the TKO is a nicer sound? Now if you tune the marauder down slightly ....... .then again if you tune the maximus down ...... .
They are fairly close to me.

Ted had a video shooting a Disco with and without I believe a TKO moderator. It should still be on his channel.... The Disco/Maximus is pretty much the same gun wood vs syn

Authoritative answer:
I own both. Keep in mind the Maximus is fewer FPE than the Marauder... more power equals more noise (generally speaking).
The Maximus is much quieter with it's 6.5 inch TKO installed than a Marauder. The Marauder has a top notch tune on it (42 shots at 40 FPE with less than a 2 percent maximum velocity difference from the hottest shot to the slowest shot in the 42 shot group). The tune on the Marauder is much quieter than the stock tune. The Marauder is quiet, the Maximus with a TKO is even quieter, the Maximus is as loud as a small hand squeeze stapler when fired.

The story would still be the same RWSMike. The Maximus with a 6.5 inch TKO is stupid quiet. It is shoot a bird on a limb, and it's neighbors on each side of it don't fly off quiet.
