Which Compressor?

Based on rebuild schedule I believe the Bauer would be worth the extra money.

Bauer it's very good compresor number one in europe, coltri if it's for personal use it's okay only need cold between charges to avoid problems

I've been looking at compressors like mad trying to figure out what's the best way to go for ones hard earned cash.Bauer does look to be the best for long-term usage.I'm also looking at Sheldon compressor for a cheaper option ,Bauer 4k plus vs Sheldon 2k plus.

I have also looked at the Chinese compressors and shoebox freedom 8.the Chinese compressors are sketchy on getting repairs plus I would need to add a good moisture separator ,cost looks to be in the 2k plus .the freedom 8 is about 1200$ + water separator and decitiant filter before shoebox about 155$,then good separator after shoebox anywhere 200$ to 400$ for a total anywhere in the 1550 to 1750$ .I know one can just spend the 1200$ and just add a filter of sorts but I want clean dry air going into my high end baby.

What's wrong with the Shoebox ? That seems like a lot of money for a compressor. IMHO

I would be all over a shoebox if it came with a good moisture separator/filter.

I think you can buy a filter from Sheldon's Sportings Goods. He also sells the Kidd compressor. The cost is about $500. This will bring the cost to $1700 plus the first stage compressor bringing you closer to over $2000.00 and it fills quite slowly. This is where I get off the bus! He sells his compressor for $2600 plus shipping and it fills a tank in minutes. I feel your pain as I have agonized over this decision as well. All these compressors have pros and cons. Buying any of the ones mentioned wil probably be a good investment. Most people are quite happy to be independent of the scuba/paintball shop. If they could increase the output of the Shoebox and keep the price the same it would be a great deal for air gunners. I saw on the Shoebox website and they may be developing a 220V version but for Europe. Hopefully it will be coming here as well.

I'm with you on the shoebox, it just costs too much in the end for what it does and how fast it does it.I thought I had it all figured out for a little bit. I found a sweet mako compressor with only 250 hours plus it had a fresh Bauer go over for 900$ (3300 psi model) then add the 600$ booster to reach 4500 psi of clean dry air for 1500$.I was excited beyond belief but then Murphy's law hit me right in the kisser.the guy that makes the 600$ booster not gonna make any for a year and may not make any at all.
The Haskel boosters are super costly soo that was the end of that plan.

Man the shoebox is not slow in my opinion. Expensive but it does the job well. I grease up moving parts before during and after.

Don't get me wrong, the shoebox is a solid unit, but it is very slow compared to every other stand alone compressor on the market. The Omega is way faster and it is still a cfh compressor. Use a cfm compressor once and you will change your mind. We all justify what we own, but the shoebox is as slow as it gets. That is just a fact!!

I am also leaning toward the Daystate compressor when funds become available. My wife has begun to show interest but hasn't started shooting yet. If she takes to it like she did her pb pistol I'll need the compressor to keep up with pellet consumption.

You have to be NUTS to pay that much for Bauer pumps. What do use that kinda pump for? Just your air guns? Wowza!!!!

Nutzz ,lol nahh,just love my toys/hobby's. I've been playing Paintball for about 20 years and now I'm into PCP pellet guns both require Hpa soo I gotta me a good compressor to keep up.

If the compressor is from Europe then likely it will have a 50 Hz motor - North America = 60 Hz
When you raise the frequency, the motor will speed up (20% faster)
- I don't know if cooling maybe an issue at the higher RPM ?
