Which CO2 Cartridge Do You Use In Your Air Pistols?

I use the Crosman CO2 cartridges in my 2240 and the Umerex ones in my Umerex blow back pistol.

I've been doing some reading and some people claim the Umerex CO2 carts are the best and only use them regardless of which brand of pistol they are using. They also claim the Crosman and Daisey CO2 cartridges are "dirty" on the inside and not as good as the Umerex. And yes I always put a small drop of pelgun oil on every other cart before putting them in the pistol. What do you recommend?

I obsess over a lot of airgun minutae but I’ve never observed any meaningful difference in CO2 cartridges from any reputable brand. Not even from brands that I had previously never heard of. The only exception I can think of is some differences in how easy or hard they are to pierce. Any grunge is swamped by deposits from the pellets...even pellets that have been cleaned and lubricated.

In the recent period of covid/supply chain/inflation paranoia I've acquired cartridges for Redrock, Academy Sport (Umarex & Monarch brand), and Crosman (US & China). The "cap" style plug on the US Crosman cartridges is more difficult to pierce than the other style. All of the others look similar. I haven't cut any cartridge open to compare cleanliness.

I was told to only use Umarex or Gamo in a MP40 replica by Umarex when I sent it back because it wasnt working with the Daisy cartridges I was using. So I guess some are more powerful than others.

Those two are more money though.

I've been using Crosmans with the MP40 without any issues (not with the cartridges anyways). I might also have used daisys with them, but not sure.
