Which airgun(s) got you started?

These are the two that rekindled my love:

RWS Diana 48

Beeman P9/Weihrauch HW40

Down and dirty, even though not an Airgun, this ad along with owning the original wrist rocket slingshot was truly the one that got me into hurling projectiles. My Dad brought one back from Vietnam to home in the Philippines. In Vietnam he was a civil service worker as a security guard policing a factory loaded with equipment and supplies for the US troops during the Vietnam war. He used it along with 3/8 nuts as the projectile to keep thieves away from the supplies.

Got pretty good at it as a kid. I could pop a squirrel out to 25 yards. Even wore a beanie while shooting it, lol.

I had a Daisy BB rifle as a kid, don’t remember what model (wish I still had it!), then about 40+ years went by. Fast forward to a couple years ago and just for the heck of it I got a Crosman Vigilante revolver and the trouble started. A few years and many dollars later have three break barrels and a Compatto and am waiting on a Hawk from JSAR. I had no idea how much I would like punching holes in paper! Still a novice but learning all the time.

I started with a Daisy Buffalo Bill Scout. A year later,I ended up with a Crosman 760. The 760 developed a leak and I went to a Crosman-Hahn mod. 1400 .22

I shot the snot out of that 1400...even after the front sight broke off. I just removed the rear sight and practiced till I could hit things as well as my buddies (who Had sights!) just shooting instinctively.

This made me somewhat notorious in the old neighborhood,LOL! From there I went to a .20 Blue Streak followed by a .177 Beeman C1.

And as they say,the rest is history.

Gamo Varmint Hunter .22, then a Benji Discovery .22, then a Marauder .22, next a Hatsan AT44S .22, to a BT65 .25, to an FX Royale 500, next a BT65 Carnivore .30 to an FX Boss. That's been my whole progression the last 4 years. Sold off everything except my 2 FX's. It's been a fun (but expensive) ride! These two guns will probably be with me till the end & I'm not unhappy about it. They do EVERYTHING I need them to.

'71 i had a wood crossman M1 carbine. It cocked but pushing in the barrel. It was so weak you could see the bb arc. Then a 760 and a 454 CO2 pistol did duty keeping the grackles and starlings from our cherry orchard. Lost the 454 in a move and replaced it with a 2240. Picked up a Gamo Raptor Whisper. Man that rifle was accurate. Sold it to buy a 2260, then on to pcps.
