Where’s all the wolverines at?

I happen to own a Daystate Wolverine Hi-Lite .22 caliber. This rifle is superb. The Minelli Stock -- of walnut -- is gorgeous. The gun's accuracy amazes me every time I take it out to shoot, once a month. The gun has a 480cc bottle that produces 60-plus, unregulated shots before the shot curve drops.

With that rave review, I'm sure you're asking yourself: "Why doesn't he use the gun more?" Well...the gun is 43 inches long, with a dated bolt-action loading feature.😒 About 3 years ago, six months after I purchased my first PCP, I discovered the FX Wildcat. At that point, the Bullpup bug bite me quite hard. That being said, I still have great affinity for the traditional rifle styling and the beautiful wood on my Daystates. These guns are true works-of-art, heirlooms, indeed.

I have a Wolverine R in 22 at 30ftlbs with the carbon bottle. I have had it for over a year now and it hasn't missed a beat. The barrel isn't pellet fussy and the stock fits my 6ft 4 frame brilliantly: it also looks amazing which helps. I haven't bothered counting the number of shots but it is around 120 or so before it drops off the reg. The ftps is very consistent with a variation of around 10 over larger shot strings. Subject to conditions it is almost pellet on pellet at 50 yards and I will hunt with it happily out to 70 yards. I am sure better shots can push that number further out and I enjoy plinking with it out to 100 were it performs admirably. All in all an expensive bit of kit but worth it. I would add the trigger is fantastic and with a hugget on the end it is mouse fart quiet.

My wife uses the R in 177 for FT. Have to say it's in the running for both our favorites. This for her after using a ProTarget for about 20 years. We both shoot the RW in the EBR and I test almost exclusively on the RW and Safari but still like the simplicity and robustness of the Wolverine as well as looks and handling. Would really be my vote for Daystates best rifle, Regal being a close second. I don't think you would regret it ever.

I do see people sell or trade them, though. Mostly I think it's about getting rifles with more intrigue, but possibly the length as was previously mentioned.

I have had my Wolverine R HP .177 almost a year now and love it. I have had it out to 100 yards a few time but can only do just over 2" groups with it shooting the JSB Exact Beast 16.2,the nut behind the gun needs to do better. Pic is the Wolverine and it's little brother a Regal XL .177.
