where to buy a 4500 psi tank setup

i don't know much about tanks and their setups. i use my scuba tank and a benjamin yoke adapter to fill my pcps now, however, i'm looking at purchasing a rifle with a higher fill than 200 bar (my scuba tanks limit).

so, a few questions...

i may have a line on a used scba from a fire dept. if i bought the scba what else would i need?

if i went with new, who has the best prices? 

who has the best selection?


 
So many questions. What's your budget? You SURE you can get them filled to 4500psi? I went the Ebay route for tanks & hdwre. Make sure it's all 4500 rated. Limit is 15 years on tank so be aware of mfg date AND hydrotest/recertification date. I just gave one away (2003 mfg date) to someone with a compressor otherwise no shop will fill it.

SCBA tanks are good for 15 years unless recertified(about 1/2 new) from made date. They also need a hydro test every 5 years. I've purchased 3 in the last year for $120 $140 and $145 delivered. Service for another 3-5 years and in hydro. For near new you pay dearly $450-$800. Make sure it's a 4500#, there are 3000# and 2200# and it has the 347 valve. New fill stations are from $40 see below. Airtanks plus is another dealer with used tested tanks or search Ebay can save $$$.

Used SCBA. Needs hydro. Good for 4 more years 4500 psi. Very good deal

lots of good options, thanks!

a fire dept not far from here was selling off their tanks a couple of months ago. i'm going to call them and ask what, if any they have left.

our fire dept won't fill tanks. not even for a "donation". i've tried with my scuba. i used to work with a fire chief of a neighboring town, i'm going to contact him also. the dive shop i use is a 45 minute drive and i haven't asked if they can fill to 4500 yet.

of course, there is also the hand pump route. i could fill to 200 bar from my scuba, then top off to 230 with the pump.
