Where do you go?

We have a 100 yard range in Tyler TX for Airguns Only

Anyone in the area can PM me

Working on cutting Lanes for Field Target Practice have Target hangers out for 20, 30 50 75 and 100 yards electric plugs at range for pumps and water and porta potties

I really need someone with some construction exp to build some shooting benches

Well taters lol If I was in Texas you would have a full time buddy to help with that for free. If you move coast to coast haha The offer still stands lol. I think that is awesome Willie. I wish there was someone in NC as ambitious about it as you. 👍

The majority of my shooting is done in my backyard where I can shoot to 55 yds which makes it perfect for practicing for field target. If I want to stretch its legs and shoot further I go to a farm 1/4 mile up the road from me where I shoot in a 10acre grass field...I have a bench set up there and it's perfect for practicing field target in some wind and for 100 yard bench rest shooting. I'm in Ohio too and don't think I'd have a hard time finding other places to shoot.

Sweet where are you in Ohio? I met Jake today from Mi and he invited me to his range which is awesome I'll definitely be making plans to visit for sure. I don't always have to be pesting or hunting I actually like target shooting and trying distances for practice.

I'm just south of Youngstown Ohio in Northeast Ohio....right on the OHIO/pa border.

I'm just outside of Columbus in Whitehall. We just moved he from Cleveland Ohio for the jobs. Its more Country style then city living here which is cool for me and the family.

There's a great place to shoot just south of Columbus....Central Ohio Airgunners. Look it up on Facebook or Google it. They shoot at a nice place and also host Field Target matches 👍

I'll check them out thanks

If you are in Columbus, definitely check out the Central Ohio Airgunners.

I know several of them and they are all great guys and really into the Hobby. The range where they shoot is pretty nice, and if you get a membership I believe that you can go shoot any time that it is open.

I live about 15 miles North of Dayton just south of Casstown.

Well hell yeah

I think that you can message Chad Kentner from the COA here on the site under either user name COA or AirgunAdvisor. He is on YouTube as Airgun Advisor and he can tell you how to hook up with the Central Ohio gang.

The Midwest Airgun Show will be in Columbus this June or July, and the local shop of choice is Baker Airguns in Mt Victory Ohio.

Eric Jones is big into the COA club and goes under erockrocket user name.

Scott Keenan is another, his user name is oldmanblue.

Any of those couple guys can get you hooked up and shooting.

In my back yard. I have two different benches set up, one in the end of my workshop. That one I can shoot up to 70 yards, then one down in the field , I can shoot a few hundred yards. I built both of my benches at work. Yeah, I am glad I live in the sticks. I can shoot anytime I want. I think those of us who are so fortunate may take it for granted.

I have it good. I have 20 acres in the country that I can shoot my small air rifles off my deck or out of the garage if it’s raining. The larger air rifles and PB I shoot out back at my range. I have a couple big hills on my MX track from digging a pond. It makes a great backstop. Also have a very high rail road tracks at the back end of the property. It’s a mile to the next road or houses. A couple creeks run through here also. Lots of critters. Been working many years planting trees. This was the first year that I had producing Hickory trees along with Walnut and Oaks. The squirrels are starting to make a comeback too. Also have 20 acres up north that back-up to miles of State land. Then there are my families farms. Now that my son has moved away, I do almost all of my shooting and hunting by myself. There is a rifle range about 10 miles from my house. But I have no reason to shoot there.

From a legal standpoint, whether you can shoot airguns in a specific town/city depends on the ordinances they have in place. Airguns are NOT firearms, so an ordinance must be written specifically to prohibit airgun use.

A police officer cannot legally enforce a law or ordinance unless they have personally witnessed that law or ordinance being broken. They cannot operate on hearsay. If a neighbor complains about your airgun use and a police officer arrives to question you, ask if there is a specific ordinance that may have been broken. Ask the officer if he witnessed or heard something that lead him to believe you broke a law. Be polite! You aren't under any obligation to answer questions that may incriminate you. Again, be polite and just decline to answer if need be.

If you have neighbors that are "members", be discreet and don't shoot a loud airgun or use a backstop that creates noise. Most towns have noise ordinances, but there is usually a distance limit..IE it's only considered objectionable if it can be heard at further than X feet. Know the rules and how play within them. If you have a neighbor that complains, shoot when they aren't at home. They can't complain about what they cannot hear or see.

That said, I usually have to drive to a friend's place or to National Forest.

I live in possibly one of the worst liberal crapholes in America. Massacraphole. If someone here even sees anything resembling a gun, we are taking SWAT and 5 o'clock news. The people that live here in western MA are seriously deranged. Idiots here worship CNN, Bernie, Warren, and HRC. It is far worse than anything I could have imagined.

Luckily I have an acre of land, and have a 20 yrd basement range, a 50 yrd backyard range, and can shoot up to 89 yrds. My neighbors are closest about 150 yrds away, have probably heard me shooting (esp my .30 cal), but seem to not give much of a hoot.

It’s threads like this where I realize I’m truly blessed. I have a pasture to shoot a mile from me where we know all the adjacent people and they love us for shooting ground squirrels. In addition, there is a paintball range about a half hour away where they are getting overrun around the obstacles and welcome air gunners to shoot as many as we can.
