I read on the box of a Hawke Scope that says "Born In The UK". Then when I looked under the scope it said: "Made In China".
Can anyone explain what this really means?

I always say my son was born in the US, made in the carribean. Wife and I lived in the carribean for a few years. Pregnant there, moved to US, born in Indiana. All the important work was done in the carribean, just popped out in the US.

As are mine. I have about 4 Hawke scopes on springers and PCP's and none have ever gone back due to lack of failure.
This does have to make one think that just because it says "Made In China" does not mean it's lower quality.
This does stir my curiosity to check if all of them say "Made In China".

All the top carbon fiber racing bicycles are made in Taiwan. They have mastered the carbon layout. But all the brands are from here to Europe. I live a mile from the Specialized headquarters, and they just create the specs. Very similar to China and manufacturing. The real test is quality control. If it’s not up to spec, they shouldn’t pass it on to the consumer.
