When things need to be very quiet around the house, try a sound reduction box

I made mine from a heavy duty artificial Christmas tree storage box, 4’x1.5’x14”. The wife sent the Christmas tree to Asia in a balik bayan box, so I got the Christmas tree box.

I wrapped it in leftover laminate flooring sound insulation, then rewrapped it in old exercise mats, cut a 3x5” rectangle hole in each end. I set it slanting on two end tables, my Caldwell tripod sets at one end with the Seneca 25 carbine shooting 58 grain slugs on full power sets with the koi inside the box up to the forearm, the sound reduction is absolutely dramatic. Sounds like a 1/3 force canefou strike on a leather couch cushion, a quiet thump. 10 yards away is a Morrill crossbow target and a 15 lb block of duct seal so no noise on that end either.

Roachcreek

Well played, sir.

Well played.

Although honestly I had to look up tagafil and Google mercifully corrected it to tadalafil. Apparently it is a drug for correcting droop, if only temporarily. It seems I don’t yet need to be knowledgeable of it, though as a father of 6 kids from 14 down to 2, I have quite a different problem altogether.

14 children? Sorry Roachcreek, nervoustrig has just won the internet from you! You sure the last 4 letters of your username are correct? LOLOL 😜

Being an avid cook. Let me see if I got the recipe right?

1. Something like 3000 cubic inches of sound proofing.

2. Two end tables

3. Two tripods

4. A moderator

5. A huge airgun and slug

6. An 8 inch thick target

7. 15 POUNDS of duct seal.

Then mix well, commence firing and see what the wife says?

Love it by the way. Wish we had a thumbs up button. Best thing I've seen all day.
