What's your fascination with airguns and why airguns?

Feds popped me with illegal autos, can't have a powder burner. I still miss the smells and noise. But I rediscovered pellet guns of my youth, just as much fun but much cheaper ammo, can't say the guns a more affordable, have spent more for a pcp than I paid for a powder burner.

I have always had a airgun for as long as i can remember now as a old f@rt i found out that airguns are really powerful now. so here i am again getting into them again. also a added bonus is when the gumit takes our guns the federal gumit don't tink a air gun is a firearm so maybe we will be able to keep them.

i purchased my first "adult" airgun, a Beeman RX1, in 1989-90 and it's been off and running since then.

i live rurally and can shoot my 22 RF's if i do it sparingly so as not to annoy neighbors but they have no objections to airguns.

the ownership and use of firearms here in the state of California is rapidly becoming very difficult LEGALLY and airguns are not as heavily condemned and regulated as of yet. the use of lead bullets is not allowed in the state of California, to hunt with, but lead pellets are still OK, so far. 

I love the convenience of being able to shoot in my backyard without bothering or endangering anyone. The trigger time is invaluable to me.

i originally purchased my first air gun a few years ago to practice off hand shooting in the basement. it quickly evolved into a moneypit of fun and frustration(me + fixing things = uh oh).

I grew up with a couple BB guns and firearms of all sorts and a couple years ago rediscovered the joys of rimfires. A couple years after that I got into springers to get trigger time in the basement. I think out of all my guns (powder and air) my HW97 might be my favorite. 

I've been air gunning since I was a child in the 60's but got into adult airguns in the 70's. I love their engineering. There are so many power sources, designs, and types of ammunition. The main reason I keep shooting them is safety. Until recently moving to the country, shooting a firearm (aside from a range) was out of the question. An airgun allows for so much more shooting without the fear of hurting someone/something down range.

Never allowed one as a child now 55 and enjoying a new hobby. Was/am a gym rat(ex bouncer you see) but picking up injuries. Also battling work related depression so looking for a good hobby that I can do on my back yard, air guns just the job.
