What's too heavy or just wrong for my .22 Marauder pistol?

Hello I had a stock Prod for 2+ years before selling it to a friend and during that time I used Predator polymag shorts 15.75 gr exclusively with very good results out to 30 yds. I generally do not take body shots but on the times I have within 15 yds they worked very well. Hope this helps Eric.

14-16g dome pellets , polmag shorts. regular pellets for the head. polymags are body shot and birds , chipmunks , rats , mice.

Hello The shorts fit in the magazine with no problems, the longs are little to long and may/probably not work with the magazine. Eric

In another thread some months ago somebody mentioned the regular Polymags work fine in the P-rod magazines. 

I tried a few in mine & had no trouble but haven't tried again since. 

As I recall the shorts were pretty accurate out of my P-rod so they're probably the safer choice. 

Been shooting JSB RS 13.43gr thru my PRod to plink and pest rats...stock fps is 675.

Try polymags and if they don't work try the Hades. I've been extremely happy with hades in pesting conditions

I would personally shoot the most accurate pellet the gun likes at the longest distances no question for perfect shot placement.

10 yards is too close to zero. you'll be launching pellets up at a pretty high angle and at 25 yards they could be as high as 6" over. I think if you zero at 25 yards you'll be much happier and then just figure out your holdover at 10, 15 and 20 yards. 

This would be my most natural first thought too. Looking at how I'm really shooting, though, I don't shoot at much distance usually. 25 yards is about my max ... and I wish for the occasional 50. I'm sighted in at 10 and seem to hit the same at 15. Then it starts going haywire.

All this stuff is way more complicated than when I used to shoot 22 LR with iron sights. It takes some getting used to, and I'm definitely not there yet. Never even used a scope before now.

I agree with CTshooter. 

When I first got my P-rod I could shoot 27 yards at home and was zeroed at that distance.

I moved recently and have notes and stuff packed away but as I recall that worked out to be about the Optimal Zero on Chairgun given the speed I was shooting the H&N FTT's and my scope height. Gave me a fairly flat trajectory from 10 to 30 yards, which was about the PBR (Point Blank Range) calculated by Chairgun with a 1/2' kill zone specified.

The fact that my home range distance matched Optimal Zero on Chairgun was a coincidence. I would have zeroed in further away if I could have.

I would use crosman hollowpoint for Plinking and pesting at around 1 cent a shot, if you fancy something heavier or slightly more accurate the hades pack a punch.

It’s my first ever intro to a 3D purchase from eBay. Just do a search on marauder pistol parts and it’ll come up. I’m actually going to measure up a better one and have it made. I don’t like the way it clamps onto the air tube
