what wrong with my cricket .22

How are you sure that the regulator was working? By adjusting (how did you adjust the valve, the regulator, etc?) all of those items your air rifle may be acting as you describe with seemingly unexplained low velocity. I would HIGHLY recommend that you contact Ernest Rowe (works for FX now) or Charlie Frear (Georgia Airguns) and have your rifle sent in to be 100% checked out and tuned.

I guess my point is that if you've adjusted all of the adjustable parts on the rifle and it is not working as expected then either a) something is defective/broken/leaking or b) you're not adjusting it properly. In either case, I recommend that you send it in and get it resolved. Good luck!

I think it's due to the heavy pellet you're trying to shoot out of a short barrel (52cm) airgun with a not that big regulated chamber.

Due to the small plenum and short barrel the amount of velocity with heavy pellets is limited. Even though you're increasing reg pressure and increasing the HST, the extra pressure makes it harder for the valve to open and at some point you'll start loosing velocity again due to the hammer that's not able to open the valve far enough which means you can't get enough air out to push the pellet up to speed.

Try shooting the JSB Heavy 18.1 grain pellets instead, I think that's much better suited for the gun.

"seahawk1109"thank for every one , i had tried a 18.5 grains for my airgun ,it is 721 FPS , if my HST was not good , i had still use plastic HST ,maybe i should buy a metal's hammer spring adjustment ?
I don't think the metal version gives you more power, the plastic one will wear down pretty fast if you adjust it often. The metal one will keep ticking longer than the rest of the airgun :p

Try tuning the 18,1 grains to about 890 fps and you'll have a really decent shooter with a pretty hard hitting pellet in .22. For the 21 grains and higher weight pellets I would suggest something which is better suited for these type of pellets, something like the Daystate Air ranger high power in .22 or some other airgun with a plenum that's big enough and a hammer and valve assembly that's strong enough.

I think it's better to ask that guy what he has done to get that speed ;) maybe he opened up the air channel from the plenum to the barrel or placed an extra heavy hammer. Or he took out the valve spring and opened up the valve hole. Maybe he put a longer barrel in there.. I don't know, haven't seen his results and gun so I can only guess what he might have done?!?
