Might be helpful to know what gun and caliber you are shooting.   I assume it's a 22 with a weight of 16 gr. Might try a different pellet

Dillon, that spread of 42 not good for a regged gun. Between 8/12 would be better. Shoot another string with a different pellet.. Inquiring minds would like to know what you are up to. A few of the groups look good.Hope you figure it out .

The fast first shots suggest two things:

    1.       the regulator is creeping

    2.       the hammer strike is adjusted too firmly

.22 Uragan. This gun came adjusted to shoot the 16gr at 950-960fps. Haven't adjusted anything on the gun.

From yesterday a shot group with the 16gr (first shot was way low as I had the gun by a heater wondering if the colder temps were messing with it so air pressure in the plenum was high so I erased them)

Basically just want know if my opinion of this is not how a normal regulated shot string on a high end airgun should look like is backed up by you guys.

I had a reg problem on the first .30 Uragan I got from Talon Tunes…it was replaced and the second one is fine. Call the.dealer up and tell him the problem…make sure you back your facts up with Chrono numbers 😉.

Looks to me that the reg isn’t broke in yet. At least that’s what I would hope. Was just down this road with my Priest. Some guns perform right out of the box, some don’t. It’s no different in the firearms world. A Kimber performs right out of the box, a Ruger requires 500 shots.

I do not like the shot string at all lol. No where near what I would have hoped for if it doesn't improve at all in a full 2 tins I would be on the phone with the dealer. I would run the tins pretty quick and not wait very long even if i was just cronoing in the garage or barn at a very short distance 25 feet or less. I would just get some leade through it quickly and se if there were any change if not a phone call would go out.

Though I’m a novice I feel that your SD should be in the single digits and ES spread should be much, much tighter. The highest SD I got on my Bantam across three pellets weights was 5.56, highest ES was 14. This was “out the box” I’m still shooting the gun as I received it. Good luck!

My .30 Uragan now has a shot spread of 15fps over 40 shots.
