What would you consider best springer under $300

For target shooting and accurate plinking I don't think there is any thing on
the market better than the HW30. Well made, easy to cock, and a very
nice trigger. You can not beat it for a family oriented rifle in the $300 range.
I've found them at AOA just like new for as little as $200.

I guess I'm the opposite of Marksmen. Since I got my 3 HW30s I hardly
shoot my pcp's any more. For some reason shooting a perfect score with
the HW30 is just alot more rewarding than doing it with a Daystate.

If you want to do a bit of hunting you may what to jump up to a HW50
but I'd recommend refining your target skills with the HW30 first.

rws34 is very nice if you want a more powerful springer -- the TO6 trigger is better than the TO5 and compares favorably to the weihrach REKORD .- I have had 3 TO6 equipped RWS rifles , and all 3 triggers were excellent . the P model [ BLACK SYNTHETIC STOCK ] can be had for approx. $250 while the beech stock version approx. $270 --- I do have a HW30S and a R7 and love to shoot both of them . but neither of them is adequate when there is a need to take out a squirrel raiding my wifes' bird feeders -- when looking for a springer with some power in the under $300 class , the rws34 is a best buy --

i can understand your desire for an r-7, or hw30....but if i were you....i would consider the diana 34 with t06 trigger , and the cometa 400. the cometa shoots harder and is easy to cock and the trigger is a dream - but the diana/rws t06 trigger is better (alomst as good as the rekord hw trigger). the cometa 400 is on sale at straight shooter for $250.....if you can find cometa 400 compact - even better. both are really good and accurate , even out past 40 yards. both love easy to get crosman premier hp's. ...or just get an hw95 / r-9 if you are attached to rekord trigger..... my .20 r-9 gold finger is the best airgun i have. i just wouldnt try removing pests with anything less than 12ftlbs (825 fps with premiers). airguns of ariz has the .22 webley quattro tomahawk on for $99....they arent bad....definately worth the $99 - and you can buy a $35 hawke hd (2-7x32ao) .... cheers.
