What to do with m Original late 2016 Impact .25 cal

First I don't know what to call it. I know they improved upon the very first release....guess maybe mines a Gen 2 or a Gen1B?? My question is would it be fesable to upgrade this older gun to new specs of the MKII. Is it even possible? $2K is a lot of money so not real gung-ho buying another.

So if anyone has an educated opinion please feel free.

FYI this gun has been properly tuned and is shooting consistent 1/2" 10 shot groups at 60 yd. with the X barrel A using JSB 34 gn

I have one of the first gens and it was shot ALOT before I bought it used from a guy. It was very leaky and I resealed it all but have had problems with the regulator. I bought a HUMA and have had no problems since. I was just about to buy almost all the same parts that they are now selling as part of the power plenum kit.

My valve rod is worn out and the hammer is chewed up, so I was looking to replace those. It would also need a valve seat and a hammet spring. It was going to cost more for those individual parts than it is for the upgrade. I say that unless you are having issues with it, why upgrade the trigger block to a bigger regulator when the new power plenum should take care of the pressures that the old one can handle. I have a .25 cal setup and a .22 setup but have never liked to max out the gun to shoot the .25s so I have been using the .22. I am excited to see what can be done with this new power plenum setup. My 2 cents anyway.

Sounds like the rifle is shooting very well. Unless I had a compelling reason to mess with a good thing then I would just leave well enough alone - it's done and paid for... I'd just keep smiling.

If you really need to upgrade - say for competitions or you want to seriously get into shooting slugs or something like that then it might be more practical to sell and and put the money to a new purchase. Think that a lot of people would be happy with a gun that can shoot consistent 1/2" 10 shot groups at 60 yd so you shouldn't have any problem finding a buyer.

Old and familiar is comfortable... then there's new and exciting. Just my thoughts, hope it helps!

I have a Gen 1 and don't intend to replace it any time soon. I added an X Barrel, and will add the Power Plenum this year. The only thing I can't upgrade is the regulator because it's the 14mm version. I guess I could get a Huma, but the FX version works fine.

I'm shooting the 34 grain pellets at about 850 fps, but feel like I'm over-driving the gun at 145 bar. The Power Plenum should allow me to reduce the pressure considerably. Past that, it'll shoot just like the new guns. Great design to be upgradeable.

I wouldn't sell unless replacing with another gun of equal quality. That's just me -
