What to do about rifle

I have a FX Dremline Lite in .22 cal. Shoots very well. Best rifle I have . I am shooting sparrows and somwtimes run low on air... I'm shooting from my pick up truck drivers seat out the window and using the mirror as a rest. Shots are form 25 to 60 yards. Childs play when the Dreamline in on... I'm thinking about adding a carbon tank to the Dreamline.

I think the cost would be about $500. I was also thinking about getting a carbon fiber "mini" tank. I'm also thinking about going big and buying an Impact but 5 month wait will be past the time of need.

What do you guys think? pros, cons etc. If i add a CF bottle to the Dreamline will that screw up my "hold" when shooting from truck and using mirror for rest?

Will the impact be worth the wait? Should I go with std bbl or 700 mm bbl?

Hard to say if it will mess up your hold but the CF tanks are about 3.4 inches in diameter if that helps. The new tank would double your shot count so it may be worth the expense to you.

Yes, the wait time on the new Impacts is a bit excessive at the moment. Worth it? Well if you can afford $2100 for an airgun then I think it is well worth it.

Would I replace the gun or upgrade the tank? I can't answer that but the Impact is not the compact Dreamline it weighs in at two to three pounds more and is a larger less handy gun also.

If you are after more power and more range then the 700mm barrel would give you the most. But if the length would impede you in some way then go shorter.

Were it me I would order the Impact and not replace the Dreamline but keep it and continue to use it for what it does best. Never can have to many airguns. ;^)

Thanks guys! biohazardman very good info sir! I love the Dreamline lite and it is light weight and not bulky.. Glad to know abot the Impact. Only reason I was considering the Impact is the shot count and magazine capacity. I do not want a heavy gun, so nix the Impact..

I think I look into adding a CF tank. Really appreciate the feedback.

Looked at UA website: Kinda confusing if I follow the drop down menu for FX Dreamlite Accessories. Only the 300 cc bottle listed. Maybe the 480cc won't fit? Also looks like with adapter to convert to CF tank I will need a coupling to fill the tank instead of probe. i.e. $$$ more money..

Yup you have a PCP so the money pit is always near. Yes, to the adapter is needed for CF bottle on your gun.

I think this tuning guide shows the gun like you are wanting to make it.

If your thinking of getting an impact I HIGHLY suggest looking around at the smaller dealers they seem to have lower wait times then the big guys everyone is trying to order from. I have the M3 Sniper .30 caliber and its amazing, I love this gun I shoot it my wife shoots it as much as we can. I got an Air compressor to refil air when ever I need and 1 480? and a 580 bottle. With the compressor able to refill my big tank and the big tank to fill my small ones whenever im shooting I get to shoot as much as I like. The biggest run in is making sure I have enough ammo haha.

I am wanting to convert from original tube tank to bottle on my FX Dremline. Is the regulator inside the tube? And what happens with the new bottle adapter does it have a regulator inside it? Website is not clear about this and I’ve never adjusted current regulator. Thank you.

I did this last year. The tube does have the regulator in it. However the Bottle adapter has its own regulator. It is a very simple thing to switch them out. Just de-gass the system, unscrew the tube, screw in the bottle adapter (the Power Plenum may come off with the tube. In that case remove it from the tube and attach to the bottle adapter - or the gun- before mounting the bottle adapter. Remember to use a little silicon lube ont he o-rings and threads)

I have a 600mm Impact and I can’t even imagine shooting it out the window of a vehicle. My tube gun bullpups are the most maneuverable guns I have. If I was only going to shoot pellets out to 100yrds I would consider my Impact a waste of money. I have 3 other guns that will match my Impact accuracy wise out to 100 and they do it without being temperamental or having 20 things that can go wrong. Or should I say 37.

Don’t mess up a good thing, get a buddy bottle or even a 30 minute tank and also a boat load of mags/speed loader. Personally I do not like the carbon bottle on a Dreamline, the air tube feels and balances MUCH nicer!

That is definitely a concern.. I love the light weight of the way it is.. I have a Hugget Mod on the end but I still can manage getting thru the window.. a longer gun just seams easier to point and find the target.. JMHO...

Hey thanks for the reply and info.. FX website shows removal of the bbl.. I assume one can position the adapter. Also the fill fitting...Is the nipple the same profile as a Air Arms?
