What the hell did I get myself into?

I have never regretted spending a single dime on airguns, and I have a WHOLE LOT more invested in this sport than you do "so far"! It is like buying a boat you have to use it to get your moneys worth out of it, forget the money and shoot the (whatever) out of that Impact!!! It's 31 degrees windy with snow flurries here in central Tennessee, and I'm shooting off my deck rotating between my Wildcat .22 and my new Streamline .22 and Absolutely LOVING it! Don't have to worry about sweaty fingerprints on my guns!!! be patient, learn all about that Impact and teach your wife to shoot it too!!! Welcome to the club and keep us posted how your getting along with your new Impact.

You are going to LOVE it. I did it the same way you did... researched and decided I'd be doing this a while (easy for me as my dad and I were coming over from powder burners), so I bought my last airgun first. Also "bit the pellet" and got a compressor and CF tank, so when I went to recruit my dad and brother-in-law, all they had to think about was a PCP gun, not the accessories. I went with the Impact X 700mm as well, but in .30 cal. LOVE IT. Then I successfully pulled my dad in and he went with the same gun ("Go ahead, Dad, I've already got the compressor and tank, all you need is the gun..."). So, now I've got TWO women who will kill me when they find out. And they always find out. ALWAYS. And, to top it all off, if you think it isn't an addiction, after explaining to my wife why I bought an Impact X first, so I didn't have to step up from the expense of a "starter" PCP, I just bought a starter PCP (Hatsan Flash QE in .25). I couldn't even leave it at "my last airgun first"! My brother in law needs something to shoot that he can shoot from the same firing line my dad and I are shooting from, right? RIGHT???? Help me out here...

Yeah... we need help.

Oh, man! WHEN your wife finds out, and believe me she will, you’ll be on the hook for a pair of diamond earrings, at least. Better save all receipts for everything so you can at least argue that what you bought costs less than what she wants. Good luck to you. Many of us have been in similar situations.

My wife and I have an "understanding".

She said if I buy any more "overpriced bb guns" that she was leaving...I told here,"I understand."

...sure am gonna miss her. Anybody see the Black Friday deals at Pyramyd???

I feel much better knowing I’m not the only one who wants to or did jump in with both feet. I’m gonna make the plunge soon. I’ve been looking and wishing and saving for 2 years. I keep going back and forth between the Impact and Wildcat in .25. At least my wife knows that I want to buy a top tier air rifle. When she asked how much it was I just told her “you don’t want to know”. I really miss spending time in the woods. I know this gun will get me back out there with my son. He will have to shoot my old springer though. 😂
