What the hell did I get myself into?

Just joined today and here is my story:

So it all started about 6 weeks ago, it seemed like chipmunks & squirrels were everywhere... I pulled out an old crossman .177 pump bb/pellet gun and couldn't seem to hit the side of my garage. Then a few day's later I googled airgun's and bought a gamo urban based on some good youtube vids. Getting more hooked on youtube pesting and competition vids, I saw so many reviews on the FX Impact X... compressors, tanks, scopes, bi-pods, chrono, etc... who knew there was so much stuff (not me). Never realized how involved and the progression of airguns have come since I was a kid with a daisy. So needless to say, last week I ordered an FX Impact X 700mm in .25, plus all the accessories: pump, carbon fiber tank, chrono, etc... merry Xmas to me, OMG don't tell my wife.

👍 Welcome to AGN and to the world of airguns, your journey has just begun and it appears you have jumped in with both feet 👏. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here so don’t be afraid to ask questions, for some of us it’s a hobby and for some it’s a sport and for some it’s both, but most of all it a addiction we all share.

Famous last words of a airguner, This is going to be my last one it has everything I’ve been looking for.

Welcome to the group. Your in a great spot. One gun, one setup. Expensive yes, but hours of enjoyment. With the gun you have you can be competitive in almost every event at the airgun contests and you can pest and hunt almost everything out there. NOW. JUST DONT BUY ANY MORE! If you give in , in a couple of years you will find yourself surrounded by airguns with the value equaling that of a new loaded pickup. Then your going to be asking yourself. WHAT HAVE I DONE! Good luck. Sylvan

Oh, man! WHEN your wife finds out, and believe me she will, you’ll be on the hook for a pair of diamond earrings, at least. Better save all receipts for everything so you can at least argue that what you bought costs less than what she wants. Good luck to you. Many of us have been in similar situations.

Jack

Welcome to the addiction! I like you started out with buying a airgun to shoot chipmunks that were overrunning my yard and it grew from there. Ive been into airguns now for over 25 years and have enjoyed cheap guns as well as very very expensive ones. The fact that i can shoot at home in my back yard and get great accuracy and being able to compete in Field Target all add up to one great hobby. Enjoy the ride for you will see there is many many turns in the road but all great fun with great people on the way.

Can’t wait till it arrives today... I think I watched every youtube review at least 4 times each. Yesterday I measured yardage in my backyard and setup plinking targets from 25 to 100 yards. Watch out Ted & Matt (lol).

Want to thank all the youtubers for their reviews and vids, made it easier to make my choice. If my wife puts me in the doghouse I’m blaming it all on them.

looking forward to picking everyone’s brain on this “red rider” journey, hopefully I won’t shoot my eye out.

2019 Extreme Benchrest here I come... lol.
