What really grinds my gears....

Don’t blame AGD or PA or anyone else for that matter because you can’t use a discount code. They are simply doing what manufacturers’ who have a MAP pricing structure request them to do.

You need to go after the COMPANIES that impose MAP pricing;

NOT those who enforce it. And good luck with that….

Don’t look now but more and more companies are participating in MAP. Almost all your European upper end PCP guns will have but a fraction of a price difference.

Sorry if I’m a “glass half full” kinda guy but there is a lot of product that isn’t MAP protected. For instance ammo; I will spend MORE on pellets than the cost of the gun in less than two years, MAYBE one, and that’s using a high value discount code (14-15%) at the time of purchase.

Merry Christmas!!

I pretty much think that we are all in agreement here. I think we all understand the concept of MAP, although some vendors do sell for less. For example, Best Buy sells Apple products way less than MAP, but they ask you “put it in the cart to see the price”

The Ad should read: “SALE! 14% OFF (exclusions apply)” Up front & center, period. The fact that the words “Site Wide” are used is very misleading to anyone. You shouldn’t have to scroll ALL the way down to the bottom to have your suspicions confirmed.

I received an Air Gun Depot catalog a month or so ago that advertised three tins of pellets for the price of two. So I went to the site, and LO! It was four for the price of three! Well, heck, I get that same deal with Pyramyd Air, I know they come packaged properly, the price is fair, why change?

I bought a TX200 a couple of weeks ago, and right there on the website page it states that coupons don't apply. So, I ordered it, and within hours, I got an email with a bunch of holiday deals, and LO! Right there was the exact TX200 I had just bought for a hundred bux less! I got ahold of PA and they honored the sale price, even though they had actually shipped the rifle already.

I'm a loyal Pyramyd Arms customer for certain. I was really put off by my minor Air Gun Depot observation. Even though there are companies closer to where I live on the West Coast, there's a lot to be said for building a loyal relationship with a company...

So, I’m not 100% sure of this, but, I think PA & AGD are owned by the same company. They actually addressed the issue with the pellet sale and asked for feedback. Not sure how deep that really sunk in though.

Last year I almost (freaking should have) bought the TX200 HC on BF sale. Will have to look up, but it accepted the discount then. The whole thing came to $651To include 2 tins of AA pellets & a scope (UTG). I figured I WOULD buy it this year for sure. Go fish......

AGD pretty well always has their pellets buy four pay for three and they pack the exact same way PA does. The JSB pellets I shoot are $1.50 per tin cheaper at AGD than PA and AGD currently has free shipping on orders over $79 instead of free shipping on $150 or more at PA.

I just ordered eight tins of JSB Match Middle Weight from AGD and saved just over $51 and got free shipping, almost as good a deal as black Friday.

Not a true statement. This has been hashed over for several years on the forum in multiple threads. It got to the point that I contacted Cameron who did still work for AGD at that time (rather than AF where he works now) and he stated they are separate entities BUT much of the AGD inventory and support come from Air Venturi just like many dealers inventory does. PA is the Retail side of AV just like AOA is the retail side of Precision Airgun Distribution. a Google search will turn up this information as well via business licenses and import paperwork found online.

Lets grind some more.....

I bought a fitting for my Nova, It shipped UPS, tracking number provided, COOL! Was supposed to be here by 8:00 last night. NOPE. Tracked again and now says check later. So I called UPS's CS line gave the tracking # and was promptly told (automated of course) "Per the shippers agreement your package was transferred to the USPS it will arrive 10 or less" This is totally on me. After the pellet issue I had a while back I should have known better..
