What problems might there be when mounting a BARREL BACKWARDS? 🤔

So, if I took a PCP and took the barrel off, flipped it around and mounted the muzzle into the action....

(Yes, you DID roll your eyes, didn't you?! 😄

❔ (1) How would this affect shooting performance?

❔ (2) Would I mess up anything permanently doing this?

PS: (3) If an airgunner did this non-intentionally — would that earn him an honorable mention in the Airgunners' 12 Most Stupid Mistakes listing?

I did just that and ended up with my best shooting Crosman pistol ever. I was having accuracy problems to start with and when I pushed a pellet down the barrel I noticed it was tight at the breech end and loose at the crown end. So I cut the port off of the one end and drilled one on the other. It shot lights out like half inch groups at 50 yards from then on.

It would be an easy thing to do on a Leshiy or one of the FX liners and probly a couple more as well. Normally you would be putting the choked end first in your situation and it would be hard to push a pellet in and be sloppy down the rest of the barrel. So accuracy should suffer a bit. It likely won't mess anything up permanently unless you made changes to make it fit.
