What optics you would think for action shooting?

That Athlon helos 1-4.5 would be excellent for this stuff. The BIG Black Ring in the reticle negates the need for using illume. Plus it has a decent sized Black dot and nice holdovers, holdoffs.

When shooting 3gun comps with my Burris XTR2 1-8 I discovered I could see the BIG Black Ring easier against a cardboard USPSA target. When lit up the red got a little washed out against the cardboard. Even more easy is seeing the BIG Black ring against white painted steel.

It's also nice having the option of using more magnification when appropriate. I hate being restricted to 1X all the time !!!!!!!!

Thanks, I got used to big magnifications like 10-40 or 10-50 and have no experience with anything lower then 14x. The red dot was kind of weird to my brain and I got a 6x magnifier for it. I like this reticle very similar to Eotech what I have but broken.

:) :)

I like the IO but I have the MD reticle on my 14x50, this model had the second option with Christmas three (MD Extended) reticle only and which one I considered a little = crowded. But seeing the lower 5x power models have the MD Rapid vs MDE. I would buy one to try it, but my main concern is the IO eye reliefe for the action game, you walk and run around and turning and in the dust....and you need to keep the IO in close focus. I may be wrong but I think the IO is more a target scope vs a battle scope. Mine 14x50 definitely cannot do it because of the power is 14 and I would need one hand on the focus wheel all the time.

well, can't agree, for example, you cannot call Trijocon ACOG 4x32 "not a battle" scope for sure, and guess what is the eye relief there ?

I don't know the size of the targets you'll be shooting, nor the distances, but....

Yesterday I was sighting my AR in with my March 1-10 DFP, then checking my dope at distance. Man at 10x, even on medium sized steel "2-3 moa", at 200Y, 400Y, and 500Y they seemed small compared to 25x that I'm used to using. So having some, any, magnification helps a BUNCH!!! I tried looking at the same targets on 1X and it was hilarious! They looked like they were pin heads, LOL!

That Helos 1-4.5 and some 1-? March scopes, are some of the very few that have adjustable parallax on a LPVO, which is something I personally find essential for my old eyes.

I would highly recommend this:

Thanks for the tip. I got tired of browsing around the empty shelf's and out of stock, ordered that one of those LPVO scope from your link. The price point is not stressing and even if the scope doesn't work out well what I am planning to play, that will not make me cry.

awesome, the low cost is also why I tried it. I was very pleasantly surprised even knowing vector optics has good value and quality, so much so I immediately ordered a second one. Think you will find it very good for your use case. Let us know how it works out for you.

I was at my club yesterday, the wind was ugly and I decided I will not shot the long range with my Impact and instead I toke my Leshiy2 to 40 meters range. I was completely alone and I locked the range. I had a fun time, even the reloading/refilling wasn't really hard.

After about an hour of shooting these are well over 250+ shots on the paper, with IO 14x50, started from tripod and about half the range time kept shooting just freehand. With freehand the MD reticle is very noticeable for wondering around, in my case L-R direction. Expecting the center ring will tighten the brain how to control the things. (btw, I just got the UPS notification for my new LPVO scope delivery date).

OK, don't judge the target and the group pattern :) I can do way better. I was shooting semiauto x2's and x4's followup shots, and my point was not into precision but how can I hold it on the paper when moving around. You shall try it, this game is fun too ;)

Looks like you had some fun out there good to hear

I like the TA33 Acog on my Leshiy Classic. It works great for a lightweight action shooting scope. I have the same scope on a FX maverick as well. I like it so much! Around 4 inches of eye relief, a precise crosshair, and good holdover points for stretching it out. I got a 62 yard shot on a small ground squirrel this summer shooting off a log. It only weighs like 8 ounces. Get the ADM mount for it, smaller and lighter. I like the model with the 300 Blk reticle.
