Hey, it's off topic (although I see more and more people using phone mounts on their scopes). But just in general, I am curious who uses what. I just bought a Moto G6 and I am loving it (nice features throughout, champagne offerings on a beer budget) but not sure if I want to mount it to my scope on a springer though. What suits you?

I got a CAT dumb phone.  Shockproof, dustproof, waterproof.  I'm not interest in anything except receiving text messages of making calls.  In fact, if I weren't a SAR volunteer and required to be contactable when on call then I wouldn't bother with a cell phone at all, as I don't really like them.

I only have a cell phone because the landline service in my area goes totally dysfunctional for a couple days with every heavy rain. Not sure my JITTERBUG would do a very good job for the 'application' in this thread. But I can make and receive phone calls, and send texts (only to recipients that text me first). Truly a miracle of modern science! OH… it also takes pictures!

    A watch.

I break regular phones too often. Giving a watch phone a try and so far the screen is holding up.

Fair enough, I am curious how the watch holds up. I also break phone's more than I should.

I happened to notice similarities in phones and scopes when you purchase them… The bad ones come in a blister-pack or other see-through packaging, whereas the good ones (in both cases) usually come in a lift-top box, make and model printed on the box with nothing else but maybe a simple design and two or three QR and bar codes.

I just find it interesting how two different products can be packaged so similarly with associated degrees of quality.

Same flip phone I've had for years, sits in the glovebox of my vehicle mostly. The only time I turn it on is when I make a long distance phone call, I have a land line. Never sent a text in my life, wouldn't know how. Don't want to know. I'm a retired old man who is NOT a slave to my phone. Unlike most, I can actually go more that 15 minutes without looking @ my phone and not display withdrawal symptoms.
