What is your favorite scope 100yds

Hi Guys, When shooting at 100yds, which scopes and powers have you all had the best success with. Is it simply the most powerfull you can get (maybe 40 power) or is there a optimum like maybe 24. Also please let me know which brands are your favorite for under $500

Second question is which scopes or reticles have worked best for going from shooting 30, 50 and 100 yrs?

I am shooting a FX Impact in .22 and .25 cal. with FX no limit rings.

Thanks!

I like 30x for 100y Target shooting. But I would probably not say no to 50x or even better, the March 8-80x

But realisticly, I have only owned 30x and it was OK. Just remember that if you intend to drag your gun along a high power scope can be very heavy and cumbersome. If it is a bench rifle then weight does not matter.

If your looking for a cheap Target scope then you might want to check out the SWFA 20x42 scope.

I was using a Delta Optical Titanium 4,5-30x50, that is the only scope I have used for 100m so far.

I have a Mueller 8-32x44 target scope. I like it but I think I would like a scope with a different reticle that I can go from 30 to 50 yards or 50 to 100 with out having to re zero it. I do like the 32 power and saw sight mark 10-40 x 56 with a great reticle and thought that would be great but do not know much about them other than they have good stats and I like the reticle.

I've tried a series of Hawkes and Optisan scopes and now have a Nikko Diamond Sterling 10-50x60 on my Impact. Crystal clear at full magnification at 100 yds.
You can usually get a good deal on these used on Yellow.

If one needed something now, the Sightron are nice (though they are 1/4 MOA vs Nikko's 1/8 MOA adjustments. The Leopold Gold Ring series is also very clear at high magnification at 100 (have hose on my powder burners).

I have to agree with Tony R on the weight if you going to carry it around. My highest power scope is 34x but it's for bench shooting.

I'm comfortable doing 100 yd shot with a 14 or 16x when it comes to carrying it all day on a hunting trip. At that distance there's a good chance I'll get a follow up shot.

You'll definitely need to factor in what your going to use the gun mostly for.
